Pinterest Scheduler

Schedule image and video pins for every client board

RecurPost is a social media scheduler that publishes pins straight to client Pinterest boards through Pinterest’s official API. Every board connects as its own account, without anyone sharing a password. Titles, descriptions, destination links and alt text all ride on every pin, and clicks get counted.

Schedule image and video pins for every client board

800  description characters, checked at compose

100  title characters, auto-filled when empty

850+  platform errors handled

20  accounts for $79/mo

Every pin field Pinterest rewards, from one composer

RecurPost publishes the pin types Pinterest’s API accepts and fills the fields most schedulers leave blank.

Image pins

One image per pin, Pinterest’s own model. Title, description, destination link and alt text all publish with it, straight through Pinterest’s API.

Video pins

RecurPost registers the upload with Pinterest, sends the file, waits for Pinterest to confirm processing, then publishes with a cover image.

Titles that fill themselves

Leave the title empty and RecurPost uses the first line of your description. Run over 100 characters and it truncates safely instead of failing.

Destination links with counted clicks

Every pin carries a destination link through RecurPost’s tracked short links. A video pin without a link falls back to the board’s default destination.

Pinterest closed Idea pins to outside tools, so no scheduler publishes them. RecurPost covers everything Pinterest’s API allows.

From client invite to published post

1

You invite the client by email or link.

2

The client signs into their own Pinterest and picks the boards. Each board lands in your workspace as its own account, and no password changes hands.

3

Your team queues pins on the social media calendar, or imports hundreds at once with bulk scheduling. A best-time option picks the slot from the board’s own pins’ engagement.

4

The client approves the queue from a shared calendar link, with no RecurPost login needed. Approvals come with every paid plan, from $9 per month.

5

RecurPost publishes on schedule and saves the live pin URL for every published pin.

In practice

A freelancer runs Pinterest for a wedding venue and two e-commerce shops: 9 boards across 3 clients, each board its own account on one calendar. A month of pins goes out on schedule, and the wrong-board mistake stops being possible. That flow is part of how the RecurPost social media scheduler handles client work.

Boards

Every board is its own account on the calendar

RecurPost connects Pinterest at the board level. When a client authorizes their account, each board arrives as a separate schedulable account with its own queue, its own report and its own time zone. Choosing where a pin goes means choosing the board account, not picking from a dropdown at 11 PM. An agency running a client’s Recipes, Seasonal and Products boards schedules each one on its own rhythm.

Pinterest’s API gives no tool access to board sections as a scheduling target, and RecurPost does not create new boards for you. Boards get made in Pinterest; RecurPost publishes to them.

Reporting

Prove traffic, not just impressions

RecurPost’s Pinterest report leads with the number Pinterest clients actually pay for: outbound clicks. The report shows impressions, reach, engagements, engagement rate, saves, pin clicks and outbound clicks as a funnel, benchmarks the client’s save rate against Pinterest’s 2.5% average, and breaks results down by pin format, device and audience interests. The PDF export carries your agency’s logo instead of RecurPost’s.

Pinterest gives scheduling tools no comment or DM API, so RecurPost’s social inbox stops short of Pinterest. Every tool shares that limit. Most don’t say so.

Reliability

When a pin fails, you get the cause and the fix

RecurPost recovers first and reports second.

When Pinterest rejects a video, RecurPost re-processes the file against Pinterest’s specs and retries automatically, with a guard that stops it from looping forever.

RecurPost normalizes Pinterest video to the accepted canvas: 600 to 1000 pixels wide, 900 to 1500 tall, 24 to 30 fps, codecs converted automatically. Silent videos publish fine.

RecurPost caches the uploaded media ID for every video pin, so a retry publishes the already-processed video instead of uploading the file again.

A failed pin shows a named error from the 850+ catalog. An authorization failure becomes a one-click reconnect prompt instead of a silent gap in the client’s boards.

When Pinterest’s API rate-limits a request, RecurPost backs off and retries on its own instead of dropping the job and hoping nobody notices.

In practice

A client’s videographer sends a 4K horizontal cut for a vertical-first platform. RecurPost resizes it into Pinterest’s accepted canvas and the video pin publishes on schedule. Nobody re-exports anything.

Some schedulers drop failed posts silently, and the client notices before the agency does.

Pinterest's rules, handled before publish day

RecurPost’s composer counts Pinterest’s limits as you type: 800 characters of description and 100 of title, with the title auto-filled from your description’s first line when you skip it. The built-in image editor carries a Pin 2:3 crop preset so pins land in Pinterest’s tall canvas instead of getting cropped by it. One image per pin is Pinterest’s model, and RecurPost tells you that at compose time rather than failing at publish.

Pinterest scheduler FAQs

RecurPost publishes pins automatically through Pinterest’s official API. Image pins publish directly at the scheduled time. Video pins publish as soon as Pinterest confirms the video has processed. No reminder notifications and no manual steps.

RecurPost schedules Pinterest video pins end to end: it registers the upload with Pinterest, sends the file, waits for Pinterest to confirm processing, then publishes the pin with a cover image. Rejected videos get re-processed to Pinterest’s specs and retried automatically.

Clients connect Pinterest through an invite link or email from RecurPost. The client signs into their own Pinterest and picks the boards, and each board lands in the workspace as its own schedulable account. No password changes hands.

Pinterest pins hold 100 characters of title and 800 characters of description through the API. RecurPost counts both at compose time, fills an empty title from the first line of the description, and truncates an over-long title safely instead of failing the pin.

RecurPost tracks clicks on every pin’s destination link through its own short links, and reports Pinterest’s outbound-click metric alongside saves and pin clicks. Counted clicks, not estimates.

A failed pin shows a named cause and a fix from RecurPost’s 850+ error catalog. Rejected videos re-process against Pinterest’s specs and retry automatically. An authorization failure becomes a one-click reconnect prompt instead of a silent gap.

RecurPost reports Pinterest performance per board: impressions, reach, engagements, engagement rate, saves, pin clicks, outbound clicks and follower counts, with the client’s save rate benchmarked against Pinterest’s 2.5% average. The report exports as a PDF with your agency’s logo.

RecurPost cannot schedule Idea pins, and neither can any other tool: Pinterest closed that API to third parties. Carousel pins are not supported either. RecurPost publishes image pins and video pins, which are the formats Pinterest’s API accepts from schedulers.
