From client invite to published post
You invite the client by email or link.
The client connects Instagram themselves. No password changes hands.
Your team queues posts on the social media calendar, or imports up to 250 at once with bulk scheduling.
The client approves the queue. Approvals come with every paid plan, from $9 per month.
RecurPost publishes on schedule.
A freelancer with 5 retail clients batches a month of Reels and feed posts from one CSV and never touches a client password.

Trending audio, Trial Reels and product tags
RecurPost’s composer keeps the Instagram-only options a generic cross-platform scheduler drops.
- The audio picker browses Instagram's Trending, Music and Original sounds feeds through Meta's Audio API, with preview playback.
- Separate volume sliders mix the track against the original video sound, 0 to 100 each.
- Trial Reels go to non-followers first. You choose manual or automatic graduation to your followers.
- Product, collaborator, location and people tags apply at compose time, on images and on Reels.
- The first comment publishes with your hashtag block the moment the post goes live.
- The Instagram grid calendar previews the client's profile before anything publishes.
Audio picking needs a Business or Creator account connected through Facebook login. RecurPost prompts other connections to reconnect.

Comments become DM conversations
A client’s Reel says “comment PRICING”. RecurPost’s Instagram DM automation answers every matching comment with a preset DM and a custom CTA button. Non-followers get their own variant that invites the follow. Rotating public replies keep the thread from reading as botted.
Brands that need multi-step chatbot funnels need a dedicated conversation tool. This is comment-to-DM lead capture inside the client’s workspace.

Failed posts get retried before you hear about it
RecurPost recovers first and reports second.
RecurPost uploads your video first, then gives Instagram about 3 minutes to finish processing it before requesting the publish.
If Instagram answers âmedia not readyâ at publish time, RecurPost retries the publish up to 10 more times, a few seconds apart.
RecurPost publishes media exactly as you uploaded it, and resizes a video only after Instagram rejects the original.
Images Instagram can’t fetch from your URL get copied to RecurPost’s storage and retried.
Only then does the post show a named error from the 850+ catalog, with the cause and the fix.
A client’s 4K Reel stalls in Instagram’s processing pipeline at 2 a.m. It publishes minutes late instead of not at all.
Some schedulers drop failed posts silently, and the client notices before the agency does.

Instagram's rules, handled before publish day
RecurPost’s image editor carries Instagram crop presets (4:5 feed, 9:16 Stories and Reels). A compliant image publishes untouched; a too-tall one gets padded with white, never cropped. Posts over Instagram’s 30-hashtag cap get caught at compose time instead of failing at publish.
RecurPost answers Instagram timing questions from account-level data.
Built for client work
- You run several client Instagram accounts and answer to those clients.
- Clients must approve posts before anything publishes.
- Your clients sell on Instagram or run collaborator posts.
- You want a visual grid planner for one personal account. A lighter tool fits better.
- You need multi-step chatbot funnels with conditional logic.
- Your accounts are text-first B2B and never touch product tags or trending audio.
Instagram is one of ten platforms RecurPost publishes to, alongside Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, TikTok, YouTube, Threads and Bluesky. One draft, tailored per platform. See all supported social media platforms.

Instagram scheduler FAQs
Do clients need to share their Instagram password to connect to RecurPost?
Clients connect their Instagram account to RecurPost through an email or link invite without sharing a password. The client authorizes their own account and the connection lands in their workspace.
Can RecurPost add trending audio to a scheduled Instagram Reel?
RecurPost’s composer includes an Instagram audio picker with Trending, Music and Original sounds tabs, and applies the chosen track with separate audio and video volume levels when the Reel publishes. The picker works on Business and Creator accounts connected through Facebook login.
Can RecurPost schedule an Instagram Trial Reel?
RecurPost schedules a Reel as an Instagram Trial Reel, which Instagram shows to non-followers first. You set the graduation to followers as manual or automatic.
Does RecurPost auto-publish Instagram Stories, or does it send a reminder?
RecurPost auto-publishes Stories directly to Instagram professional accounts. A Facebook-login connection that Instagram hasn’t granted direct publishing gets the mobile reminder for Stories instead.
How many images or videos can a scheduled Instagram carousel include?
A carousel scheduled through RecurPost publishes up to 10 images or videos. Media beyond the tenth doesn’t publish, so build the carousel inside that cap.
What kind of Instagram account does RecurPost publishing require?
RecurPost publishes directly to Instagram professional accounts, meaning Business or Creator accounts, connected through Facebook login or direct Instagram login. Personal profiles work through a mobile reminder notification instead of direct publishing.
Why can't I schedule posts on Instagram?
Instagram accepts direct publishing from scheduling tools only on professional accounts, so a personal profile or a connection authorized without Instagram’s content-publishing permission blocks direct scheduling. Switching the account to Business or Creator in the Instagram app and reconnecting it in RecurPost enables direct publishing, and a personal profile can still post through RecurPost’s mobile reminder workflow.
What happens if a scheduled Instagram post fails?
RecurPost retries recoverable Instagram failures before reporting anything: it waits for Instagram to finish processing videos, re-queues posts hit by temporary errors, resizes a video only after Instagram rejects the original and re-hosts images Instagram can’t fetch. Only when recovery fails does the post show a named error with the cause and fix.
Why are my scheduled Instagram posts not posting?
An expired Instagram connection, media outside Instagram’s format rules, or a video Instagram is still processing at publish time causes most missed posts. RecurPost handles each cause: it flags an expired connection for reconnection on the Social Profiles page, adjusts images to Instagram’s size rules before publishing, and gives a processing video about 3 minutes plus up to 10 retries before reporting an error.
Can one post be customized differently for Instagram than for other platforms?
RecurPost’s composer tailors one draft per platform. The Instagram version carries its own caption, media, hashtags, first comment and Instagram-only options while every other platform keeps its own.
