Seasonal Libraries
Seasonal Content Libraries For Social Media Campaigns
RecurPost’s seasonal libraries schedule holiday and event content within a specific date range and automatically pause it until the next season.
Agencies face the same challenge every year. They rebuild Diwali, Black Friday, and New Year posts from scratch for every client account.
A seasonal library removes that repetitive work. Once configured, RecurPost publishes the campaign inside its window and republishes it when the next season begins.

A Seasonal Library Publishes Inside a Set Date Window, Then Pauses
A RecurPost seasonal library publishes its posts between two dates you set, then pauses until the next cycle. Christmas posts go out across December and stop on their own in January.
RecurPost gives you three library types. Each one posts on a different pattern.
| Library type | How it posts | When it stops |
|---|---|---|
| Seasonal | Publishes between the start and end dates you set | Goes dormant after the window, returns the next cycle |
| Recurring | Posts on a set frequency in a continuous loop | Runs until you delete it |
| One-time | Posts each item once | The item moves to the Expired Content library after it publishes |
Seasonal Library
A Seasonal Library is ideal for date-based campaigns such as holidays, sales, festivals, and annual awareness days. You set the active date range, and RecurPost publishes the content during that period before pausing until the next cycle.
An agency managing 12 retail clients during Black Friday can create a seasonal library for each client. Each library becomes active during the sale period, publishes the promotional content, then pauses for the rest of the year without anyone stopping it by hand.
Recurring Library
A Recurring Library keeps evergreen content in continuous rotation. Posts are recycled and republished at the intervals you set, which suits product tips, industry insights, customer testimonials, and educational content. RecurPost documents the full recycling workflow on the content recycling page.
One-Time Library
A One-Time Library publishes each post once on the dates you choose and never recycles it, which suits announcements, product launches, webinars, events, and limited-time offers. Each item moves to the Expired Content library after it publishes.
Match the library type to the publishing pattern the content needs: a seasonal library for a dated campaign that repeats each year, a recurring library for evergreen posts that should never stop, and a one-time library for a single announcement you will not repeat.
Set Up a Seasonal Library and Its Date Window
You create a RecurPost seasonal library from the Add Library dialog. Open Libraries from the sidebar and click Add Library.
RecurPost asks you to configure three settings:
- Library name: Give the library a name that makes the campaign easy to identify.
- Library color: Choose a color to make the library easy to distinguish on the calendar.
- Library type: Select Seasonal to set the library to a seasonal publishing pattern.
Selecting Seasonal is what adds the date window. The seasonal library type lets you define when posting starts and when it ends, and those two dates are the season RecurPost publishes inside. You then add your posts and connect the social accounts where the campaign should publish.
RecurPost runs the library only between that start date and that end date. It publishes posts during the window and pauses the library for the rest of the year.
A freelancer managing three restaurant clients can create a separate holiday library for each client and assign a different color to each one, such as red, green, and blue. The calendar stays readable even when several seasonal campaigns run in the same month.
Plan-ahead campaigns you can place on a calendar suit this setup. Reactive content does not: scheduling one post by hand is faster than building a library for it.

Seasonal Posts Pause After the Window and Resume Next Cycle
A RecurPost seasonal library stays active only within its scheduled date range. After the end date, the library automatically pauses. When the same season returns, RecurPost reactivates the library for the next campaign cycle.
This active-and-pause pattern separates a seasonal library from the other two types. A one-time library expires after publishing its posts. A recurring library publishes indefinitely. A seasonal library runs during its scheduled season and pauses for the rest of the year.
You can schedule a Diwali greeting once and RecurPost keeps it inactive all year, then publishes it again during the next Diwali season. The client receives a consistent annual greeting with no campaign to recreate or reschedule.
Content tied to the same calendar period each year belongs here. Evergreen material such as product education or ongoing social media tips does not, because it should keep publishing all year rather than stopping at an end date.

Customize Each Seasonal Campaign Per Client and Platform
RecurPost lets you customize a seasonal library per client and per network without rebuilding the campaign.
RecurPost lets you edit the entire library at once. You can update the caption, change the call to action, and refresh the hashtags across every post in a single update, rather than editing each post individually.
RecurPost adapts one seasonal message to the publishing requirements of each platform. You can add a Google Business Profile call-to-action button such as Book or Order Online, tag a location, and tag collaborators on an Instagram Reel. You can also control who can comment, duet, or stitch a TikTok post. The Christmas post keeps its theme while each network receives content in its preferred format.
You can add or remove social accounts on a seasonal library without editing the existing posts again. When a client connects a new Instagram account before the holiday season, adding it to the library sends the existing posts to that account too.
An agency can use one Christmas library across a client’s Facebook Page, Instagram account, and Google Business Profile. The campaign remains consistent, with each channel using its platform-specific features:
- Google Business Profile: Includes an Order Online button.
- Instagram: The Reel tags the store location.
- Facebook: Publishes the standard feed post.
Use this when one seasonal campaign has to land differently on each network. A campaign that publishes to a single social account in a single format gains little from it.

Run Seasonal Libraries Across Every Client Account
RecurPost runs separate seasonal libraries for each client from a single login. You can keep one holiday library per client, each with its own color and its own connected social accounts.
An agency managing 20 client accounts can prepare a full year of seasonal campaigns during the fourth quarter, assign one seasonal library to each client, and let every library publish automatically inside its own date range.
RecurPost’s Agency plan covers 20 social accounts and includes 3 team members. RecurPost prices an extra teammate at a flat $20 per month on any plan instead of multiplying the plan price by every seat, so adding people to the team does not re-price the client accounts you already manage. The plans and pricing page lists the included accounts and team members for every plan.
Agencies with several clients on repeating seasonal campaigns get the most from this. A single social account with no seasonal calendar gains little for the setup it takes.

When a Seasonal Library Fits And When It Doesn't
A RecurPost seasonal library is the right choice for date-based campaigns that repeat each year. Choosing the library type that matches your publishing schedule is what keeps each campaign on the right pattern.
| Your content | Best library type |
|---|---|
| A holiday, sale, or festival campaign tied to set dates | Seasonal library |
| Always-on evergreen posts that run year-round | Recurring library |
| A single dated post you will not repeat | One-time library |
Skip a seasonal library when the campaign has no fixed schedule. Reactive posts, breaking news, and ad hoc client requests are usually faster to schedule manually. Skip it too for content that should publish continuously, which is what a recurring library handles.
A social media manager organizing one client’s content can place Black Friday promotions in a seasonal library, evergreen brand tips in a recurring library, and a one-time store reopening announcement in a one-time library. Each campaign then follows the publishing pattern that matches its purpose.
RecurPost groups seasonal libraries alongside 10 other scheduling capabilities inside its scheduler, including:
All of them use the same post composer and the same platform-specific publishing controls.
Seasonal Libraries FAQs
What is a seasonal library in RecurPost?
A RecurPost seasonal library is a content library that publishes posts within the date range you set and then automatically pauses until the next season. You can use it for holiday, sale, and festival campaigns that repeat during the same period each year.
How is a seasonal library different from a recurring library?
A seasonal library and a recurring library follow different publishing patterns. A seasonal library publishes posts only within its scheduled date range and then pauses for the rest of the year. A recurring library publishes posts at a set frequency in a continuous loop until you delete the library.
What happens to a seasonal library after the season ends?
A RecurPost seasonal library automatically pauses after its end date. The posts stop publishing while the library itself remains unchanged. When the next season begins, RecurPost reactivates the same campaign, so you do not need to rebuild or schedule it again.
Can I customize seasonal posts for each platform?
RecurPost lets you customize seasonal posts per platform from the same library. You can add a Google Business Profile call-to-action button, tag a location on an Instagram Reel, and control comments, duets, or stitches on TikTok. The core seasonal message stays consistent across every platform.
How many client accounts can run seasonal libraries at once?
RecurPost’s Agency plan covers 20 social accounts, and every one of them can run its own seasonal libraries. The plan includes 3 team members, and an extra teammate is a flat $20 per month rather than a per-seat multiple of the plan price. An agency can keep a separate color-coded holiday library for each client and manage them all from a single login.
