Add Social Profile via Link
Connect client accounts without touching a password
RecurPost’s Add Social Profile via Link connects a client’s social accounts to your dashboard without anyone sharing a password. You send an invite link. Your client approves access on the social network’s own login screen. The connected profile lands in your Social Profiles list, ready for scheduling, publishing, and reporting. RecurPost removes the credential exchange from client onboarding entirely.
No credit card required.

One invite link, one connected profile
Add Social Profile via Link generates a secure invite from the Social Profiles page. You click the + Invite others to add button and choose a delivery option: Copy Invite Link puts the URL on your clipboard for Slack, WhatsApp, or a client portal, and Send Email Invite delivers it straight from RecurPost to the client’s inbox.
Your client opens the invite and signs in to the social network account they want to connect. The platform shows its own permission screen. The client approves it, and the profile appears in your Social Profiles list without the client ever touching your RecurPost dashboard.
One invite link connects one profile. An agency onboarding a client with a Facebook Page, an Instagram business account, and a Google Business Profile sends three invites, not one.
A freelance social media manager signs a dental clinic on a Friday afternoon. They send three email invites from the Social Profiles page. The office manager approves all three from a phone over the weekend, and the clinic’s content starts Monday. No password ever passes through email.

+ Invite others to add
One click starts the invite.
Copy link or send email
Deliver it however the client communicates.

The invite link is optional. If you already control a login, for your own brand accounts or a managed client account, the + Add social profiles button connects it directly.
Why token authorization beats credential sharing
RecurPost authorizes client profiles through each platform’s official API. The client grants scoped permission on the platform’s own screen. RecurPost receives an access token, not a password. Your agency never stores the client’s credentials because it never sees them.
Token-based access removes three recurring failures of credential sharing. A shared password has to be rotated every time a staff member leaves. A login from your office trips the platform’s new-location security checks and locks the account mid-campaign. And two-factor authentication turns every reconnection into a text-message relay between your team and the client’s phone.
Credential-based onboarding is still common. Some schedulers ask the agency to collect client logins, and others require the client to add your team as platform admins by hand. The RecurPost comparisons set out how individual tools handle client account connection.
Revocation stays with the client. Access granted through the platform’s permission screen can be revoked from the client’s own account settings at any time, without asking your agency and without changing any password. A healthcare client whose compliance policy forbids sharing passwords with vendors can approve auditable, scoped API access instead.
The invite covers what RecurPost does: publishing, scheduling, inbox, and reporting. It does not make your agency an admin of the native account. A client who wants you to change their bio, manage account settings, or run native ads still grants platform-level roles separately.

Platforms and profile types that work with invite links
RecurPost connects profiles across ten platforms, and the profile type matters more than the platform name. A Facebook Page and a Facebook personal profile behave differently once connected.
Across those ten platforms, these profile types publish directly:
- Facebook Pages
- Instagram business accounts
- LinkedIn Pages and profiles
- X
- Google Business Profile locations
- TikTok
- YouTube
- Threads
- Bluesky
Three profile types publish through push notification instead: Facebook personal profiles, Facebook Groups, and Instagram personal profiles. RecurPost prepares the post and sends a notification to the account owner’s mobile app, because those platforms block direct third-party publishing for every scheduler, not just RecurPost.
A restaurant group manages six Google Business Profile locations plus one Facebook Page and one Instagram business account. Each location manager approves their own GBP location through an invite link. Head office never touches a store login, and all eight profiles publish from one calendar.
The full per-platform capability list lives on supported platforms.

What your client sees and controls
Your client sees the platform’s own permission screen before anything connects. The screen names the app and lists the permissions being granted. Nothing is hidden inside your agency’s account.
Named permissions
The platform lists exactly what is granted.
Revoke anytime
From the client’s own platform settings.
Failures surface
Disconnections flag with the specific error.
No dashboard access
The client never sees your RecurPost account.
One-way connection
One profile’s publishing rights, nothing else.
Platform token policies set the reconnection calendar, not RecurPost. Facebook and Instagram tokens need reconnection before the 60-day mark, and LinkedIn requires reauthorization once a year. Google tokens refresh automatically on each call, so manual reconnection there is rare. RecurPost treats an expiring token as an error to surface, not a silent failure; token expiry sits in the same catalog of 850+ documented platform errors RecurPost monitors.
A solo-founder client asks what exactly they are approving. The account manager forwards the permission list and points at the revoke option in their Instagram settings. They approve within the hour. Pointing at the revoke control answers the objection directly, using the platform’s own settings screen as the evidence.
Where client profiles live
Connected client profiles appear in your Social Profiles list. From there you organize them into that client’s workspace so accounts, content libraries, calendars, and reports stay separated per client. RecurPost’s collaboration and engagement features cover everything that happens after connection: shared calendars, approvals, the social inbox, and DM automation.

Questions about connecting client profiles
Does my client need a RecurPost account to approve an invite link?
Your client approves the invite by signing in to their own social network account, not to RecurPost. The invite opens the platform’s login and permission screen directly. The client never creates a RecurPost login, never sees your dashboard, and can approve from a phone.
How many profiles does one invite link connect?
One invite link connects one social profile. A client with a Facebook Page, an Instagram business account, and a Google Business Profile needs three invites. Send them in one email thread if you like; each link still authorizes a single profile.
Can my client revoke access after connecting?
Your client can revoke RecurPost’s access from their own platform settings at any time. Publishing to that profile stops, and RecurPost flags the failed posts with the specific error. Restoring access takes a fresh invite and a new approval, not a password reset.
Do connected profiles need periodic reauthorization?
Connected profiles need reauthorization on the schedule each platform’s token policy sets. Facebook and Instagram tokens need reconnection before 60 days, and LinkedIn requires reauthorization once a year. Google tokens refresh automatically on each call, so manual reconnection there is rare. The client approves again through the same password-free flow.
Which profile types publish through push notifications instead of directly?
Facebook personal profiles, Facebook Groups, and Instagram personal profiles publish through push notifications. RecurPost prepares the post and sends a notification to the account owner’s mobile app for final publishing, because those platforms block direct third-party publishing. Every other supported profile type publishes directly.
Which plans include password-free client onboarding?
Password-free client onboarding is a plan-level feature, and the plans that include it are listed on the pricing page alongside social account allowances and team member counts. The invite flow itself works the same way wherever it is included: one link, one profile, approved on the platform’s own permission screen.
