Sked Social alternatives split by the reason a team leaves. The table below matches each gap to its closest fit, and the group for each gap also names where RecurPost does not fit. Jump to the tools at a glance.
| The gap moving you | Closest fit | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Approvals sold as a $500 to $1,000 per year add-on | RecurPost, or HeyOrca for rosters with no X clients | $79/mo (Agency, 20 accounts) or $59 per workspace |
| Per-profile price at small scale | Buffer | Free (3 channels) |
| Roster passed the 10-profile ceiling | RecurPost | $79/mo for 20 accounts |
| Analytics and ads on a budget | Metricool | Free (1 brand) |
| Analytics and governance depth at enterprise scale | Sprout Social or Hootsuite | From $99/user/mo |
| Instagram-only and solo | Planoly | $16/mo |
Sked Social alternatives are social media management platforms that replace some mix of Sked Social’s approvals packaging, per-profile plan bundles, and 10-profile ceiling. No tool on this page matches Sked Social’s Instagram grid preview and optional calendar view on the same no-login reviewer link, or its Instagram-first roots, so the closest fit depends on whether the trigger is approvals, price, scale, analytics, or genuinely being Instagram-first.
Sked Social Alternatives and Competitors at a Glance
Nine tools close at least one of the gaps above. The table names the team each tool fits.
| # | Tool | Fits | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | RecurPost | Agencies that need approval stages with deadlines, per-client team roles, and per-account pricing | Agency $79/mo for 20 social accounts and 3 team members; $9/mo Starter for 2 accounts |
| 2 | HeyOrca | Zero-X agencies that can price per client workspace | Free tier (no approvals); $59 and $149 per workspace |
| 3 | Buffer | Solo operators scheduling 3 or fewer channels | Free (3 channels); $6/channel/mo after |
| 4 | Vista Social | Teams that want listening and review management above 15 profiles | $79/mo (15 profiles, 2 users) |
| 5 | Metricool | Teams that want analytics and ads management on a budget | Free (1 brand); $25/mo for 5 brands |
| 6 | Sprout Social | Enterprise buyers with listening and governance budgets | $199/seat/mo (annual) |
| 7 | Hootsuite | Enterprise buyers running listening at larger scale | $99 to $399/user/mo (annual) |
| 8 | Planoly | Solo Instagram-first creators who want a storefront | $16/mo |
| 9 | Later | Instagram planning with creator monetization | $25/mo (8 profiles) |

Why Teams Leave Sked Social
Sked Social started in Melbourne in 2014 as Schedugram, an Instagram-first scheduler, and grew into a full workspace for agencies, multi-location brands, and healthcare teams. Sked Social still covers platforms well. The departures come from packaging, and the gaps below drive most of them.
Sked Social gates approvals hard. Sked Social’s Basic plan takes no approvals add-on at all. Sked Social’s Grow plan sells internal approvals for an extra $500 per year and external approvals for an extra $1,000 per year, on top of the $690 annual plan fee. Sked Social includes both on Accelerate at $1,990 per year.
Agencies shortlist Sked Social for the external review link that add-on buys. Sked Social gives each client or stakeholder a secret link showing the posts sitting at a status the agency picks. The reviewer clicks approve or reject, leaves comments, needs no Sked Social account, and can do all of it on a phone. Sked Social’s link also carries an Instagram grid preview and an optional calendar view. A six-profile agency on Grow that shortlisted Sked Social for exactly that sign-off flow gets quoted $1,000 a year for it.
Sked Social’s internal approvals add-on is what opens up the status sequence behind that flow. Without the add-on, a Sked Social post sits in one of two statuses: work in progress, or ready to publish. With it, an agency customizes the sequence, so a designer-ready status or a client-review status becomes possible in the first place.
Sources: Sked Social help center on the difference between the approvals add-ons. Verified September 15, 2026.
Sked Social’s per-profile math runs steep. Sked Social Basic covers 1 user and 1 social set for $24 per month on annual billing, with 1 profile per platform in that set. Sked Social Grow covers 6 profiles at $58, roughly $9.67 per profile. Sked Social Accelerate covers 10 profiles at $166, which works out to $16.60 per profile. Extra Sked Social profiles cost $80 to $100 per year each, billed annually.
Sked Social’s plans stop at 10 profiles and 6 users. A 20-profile roster needs Accelerate plus 10 profile add-ons at $100 per year each, which lands near $249 per month, exactly where Sked Social’s Custom tier begins. Growing agencies hit that wall mid-contract.
Sked Social publishes Threads and Snapchat by push notification only, and Sked Social does not cover Bluesky. Sked Social auto-publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, X, and Google Business Profile, which is a strong list, so this trigger moves fewer teams than the first three.
One caution before comparing anything. Sked Social quotes its headline prices on annual billing, so the $58 Grow figure means $690 paid for the year, and monthly billing costs about 17 percent more. Most alternatives on this page quote monthly billing. Keep the cadence straight or every comparison skews.
A team whose only complaint is the review experience itself has no trigger in that list. Sked Social’s review link is a strength rather than a gap, and the section on staying covers that case.
What a Sked Social Replacement Has to Cover
Sked Social prices in plan bundles of users plus profiles, where one Sked Social profile means one connected social account. Sked Social Basic bundles 1 user with 1 social set (1 profile per platform), Grow bundles 3 users with 6 profiles, and Accelerate bundles 6 users with 10 profiles. Almost every alternative prices per social account, per channel, per brand, or per user seat instead. Count your connected accounts and your people separately before pricing anything.
Then run six checks against that roster. RecurPost’s directory of social media scheduling alternatives sets the dimensions this category gets compared on, and the checks below read those dimensions against Sked Social’s specifics:
- Find the tier where each replacement includes client approvals, and whether they cost extra. Sked Social charges $500 to $1,000 per year below Accelerate, Buffer holds approvals to its $12-per-channel Team plan, and Metricool holds them to its $67 Advanced tier.
- Check how each replacement gives reviewers access. Sked Social’s external review link needs no reviewer account, so a replacement that asks every client to create a login changes the client relationship, not just the software.
- Confirm X and Google Business Profile coverage. Sked Social includes both, and so does RecurPost, with X on every paid plan and Google Business Profile posts carrying CTA buttons. Later has neither, HeyOrca dropped direct X publishing in April 2026, Vista Social charges $29 per month for X, and Planoly handles X manually only.
- Check the billing cadence. Sked Social quotes annual rates and sells add-ons annually. A replacement quoted monthly can look pricier while costing less over the year, and the reverse also happens.
- Price the loaded cost, meaning base plan plus every add-on your roster forces on both sides. Vista Social’s $79 plan becomes $108 once X publishing joins.
- Map the migration path before canceling. Sked Social bills the year upfront, so time the switch against your renewal date and export media and captions first.
The coverage table below settles the first three checks for the tools this page recommends most often.
| Tool | X publishing | Google Business Profile | Client approvals included from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sked Social | Yes, included | Yes | Accelerate, $166/mo annual (paid add-on below that) |
| RecurPost | Yes, every paid plan | Yes, with CTA buttons | Agency, $79/mo (20 accounts) |
| Buffer | Yes | Yes (posts only) | Team plan, $12/channel/mo |
| Metricool | Paid add-on | Yes, every tier | Advanced, $67/mo |
| Vista Social | Add-on, $29/mo | Yes | Included in plans |
| HeyOrca | No (dropped Apr 2026) | Verify per plan | Basic, $59 per workspace |

Sked Social Alternatives by Switching Trigger
You Want a Sked Social Alternative With Approvals Included, Not an Add-On Invoice
| Closest fit | RecurPost, or HeyOrca for rosters with no X clients |
| RecurPost fits when | The chain needs named stages whose deadlines move the post, each person needs different access per client, and the roster includes X or Google Business Profile |
| HeyOrca fits when | No client posts to X, and review rounds fit inside $59 per client workspace |
| Sked Social still fits when | Each client or campaign needs its own differently shaped approval chain |
Approvals are the reason most teams shortlisted Sked Social, so the add-on invoice moves more of them than any other trigger. Sked Social, RecurPost, and Vista Social all run staged approvals with a board view, and they differ in packaging, in what happens when a review runs late, and in how team access is scoped.
| Approval capability | Sked Social | RecurPost | Vista Social |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where approvals sit in pricing | Add-on on Grow, $500/yr internal and $1,000/yr external; included on Accelerate | Agency plan, $79/mo | Professional $79/mo; multi-stage from $149 Advanced |
| Post statuses | Two without the internal add-on; a customizable sequence with it | Work, internal review, and client review stages the owner renames, adds, or removes | Multi-step approvals routed in a set order |
| Board view | Approvals Board, cards in columns by status, drag to move, collapsible columns | Kanban board on every plan, cards with an assignee, labels, and a media preview | Kanban board inside Vista Work projects |
| When a review runs late | Automatic email at Ready to Review, plus per-reviewer reminders daily or weekly | Stage deadline of 4 hours to 7 days, then hold, auto-approve, escalate, or reschedule | Escalation through the ApproveThis integration |
| Client access | Secret review link, no account, mobile friendly, Instagram grid view | Shareable calendar with no login, approve or request changes with one button | Approve without logging in |
| Team access | Per-user permission checkboxes; administrators always hold full access | Role templates plus custom roles, assigned per workspace, every plan | Roles and permissions per user |

RecurPost runs approvals as a staged workflow on a Kanban board. The account owner sets the stages up once for the whole account, because an agency does not change how it works from one client to the next. Each RecurPost post then moves across the board as a card with an assignee, labels, and a media preview, between an Ideas column and a Scheduled column. RecurPost seeds every account with a three-stage chain:
- A writer drafts the post in the Writing stage.
- An account manager clears the post in the Manager Review stage inside 48 hours, or RecurPost escalates it.
- The client signs off in the Client Review stage inside 72 hours, or RecurPost reschedules the post by one day.
RecurPost stage types cover work, internal review, and client review, and the owner renames, adds, or removes stages to match how the agency already works. RecurPost sets each stage deadline at 4, 8, 24, 48, or 72 hours, or at 7 days. RecurPost warns the assigned role at 50 percent and 80 percent of that deadline, and again once the stage runs over. The owner also picks what RecurPost does when the deadline passes:
- RecurPost holds the post in its stage until someone acts.
- RecurPost approves the post automatically and moves it on.
- RecurPost escalates the post to the next approver.
- RecurPost reschedules the post so a late review never publishes on the wrong day.
That last rule is the one a Sked Social team feels immediately. A client who goes quiet on a Thursday launch post no longer leaves a hole in the calendar, because RecurPost moves the post instead of publishing it unapproved.
RecurPost controls who acts at each stage through roles, on every plan from Starter at $9 per month. RecurPost ships role templates:
| RecurPost role | What the role can do |
|---|---|
| Contributor | Writes their own drafts and sends them for review, with no access to other people’s posts or approvals |
| Writer | Writes and edits posts, manages the content library, and replies in the inbox |
| Editor | Approves posts at internal review stages, edits anyone’s work, and manages the inbox |
| Publisher | Publishes and schedules, handles client approvals, exports reports, and manages the team |
RecurPost also lets the owner edit a template or build a custom role by ticking individual permissions. RecurPost’s permission groups cover posts, approvals and publishing, social profiles, the content library, the inbox, reports, DM automations, paid ads, client review, and workspace and team settings. Turning off a section such as Paid ads hides that page from the member’s sidebar. A member who tries a blocked action sees the exact permission to ask the workspace owner for.
RecurPost assigns roles per workspace, so one person holds different roles for different clients. A freelancer can be a Writer for one client, an Editor for a second, and hold no access to a third. RecurPost also names one Account Manager per workspace. RecurPost’s Account Manager is a guaranteed second approver and can approve on the client’s behalf, and RecurPost logs every approve-on-behalf.
RecurPost sends each role only the alerts for the stages that role works in, by email and in the mobile app:
- RecurPost alerts a member when a post is assigned to them.
- RecurPost alerts approvers when posts are waiting for their review.
- RecurPost alerts the writer when a client approves a post or requests changes.
- RecurPost alerts the assigned role as a stage nears or misses its deadline.
- RecurPost alerts the team when a client approval turns urgent.
A 12-client agency maps onto that chain directly. The freelance writer holds the Writer role only in the workspaces they cover. The account manager clears Manager Review from the board inside 48 hours. Each client opens RecurPost’s shareable calendar without logging in, then approves each post or sends it back to Writing with comments. RecurPost’s clients also join through an email or link invite and connect their own accounts, so nobody collects passwords.
The cost math runs in both directions at this trigger. Sked Social Grow plus the external approvals add-on costs $1,690 for the year, about $141 per month for 6 profiles and 3 users. Sked Social Accelerate costs $166 per month for 10 profiles with approvals included and no add-on invoice. RecurPost puts client workspaces and the internal and external approval workflow on the Agency plan at $79 per month for 20 social accounts and 3 team members. RecurPost pricing lists what each plan carries.
An agency that shapes a different chain for each client or each campaign loses ground on RecurPost, because RecurPost stages are account-wide and only the account owner edits them, while Sked Social configures its chain per brand and per campaign. A six-profile team that wants RecurPost’s approval workflow also buys Agency at $79 and carries 20 accounts it will not fill.
HeyOrca competes here for rosters with no X clients. HeyOrca prices per client workspace at $59 for Basic and $149 for Pro, with unlimited users in each paid workspace. HeyOrca’s default approvals start on Basic, and HeyOrca’s custom approval chains start on Pro. HeyOrca’s free tier covers 2 profiles and 15 posts per month for 1 user, without approvals. HeyOrca dropped direct X publishing in April 2026, and Sked Social users publish to X today, so an X-carrying roster loses a platform by picking HeyOrca.
Vista Social includes approvals in its $79 Professional plan, with multi-stage approvals routed in a set order from its $149 Advanced tier. Vista Social’s team members and clients approve without logging in. Sendible matches the password-free client onboarding with Client Connect from its $99 Plus plan.
Sked Social’s Per-Profile Price Stopped Making Sense
| Closest fit | Buffer for solo operators, RecurPost Starter when roles or bulk tools matter |
| Buffer fits when | The roster runs 3 or fewer channels with no client review |
| RecurPost fits when | Bulk CSV, role separation, or a visible board matter at the low end |
| Neither fits when | The team needs the staged approval workflow, which sits on RecurPost’s $79 Agency plan |
Buffer costs least at 3 or fewer channels. Buffer’s free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, and Buffer Essentials costs $6 per channel per month on monthly billing ($5 annual) with unlimited scheduling. Buffer publishes to X and Google Business Profile, so a Sked Social Basic user paying $24 for one social set (1 profile per platform) who publishes to three or fewer of those platforms runs them on Buffer for free.
Buffer’s cheapness has hard edges. Buffer requires account credentials at connection, surfaces no error when a post silently fails, and holds approvals to its Team plan at $12 per channel. RecurPost handles 850+ documented platform error types instead, so a failed RecurPost post surfaces with a reason rather than a gap in the calendar. Publer plays the same budget role at roughly $5 to $10 per account per month with bulk tools included.
RecurPost Starter covers 2 social accounts for $9 per month with team roles and permissions, the Kanban board, bulk CSV upload, and the full scheduler. RecurPost Personal covers 5 social accounts at $25. Neither RecurPost plan carries the approval workflow, which sits on Agency at $79, so a small team choosing between them is really choosing between role separation now and a staged sign-off chain later.
Your Roster Passed the 10-Profile Ceiling
| Closest fit | RecurPost |
| RecurPost fits when | 15 to 30 social accounts need per-account pricing instead of a plan jump, and one person’s access has to differ from client to client |
| Vista Social fits when | Listening, reporting depth, or review management justify a $108 loaded cost at 15 profiles |
RecurPost’s Agency plan covers 20 social accounts for $79 per month flat with 3 team members, and extra RecurPost accounts cost $4 per month each. The same 20 accounts on Sked Social need Accelerate plus 10 profile add-ons, which lands near $249 per month. RecurPost bills per social account rather than per user seat, so a fourth teammate costs $20 instead of a plan jump.
RecurPost’s per-workspace roles are what makes that growth manageable, not just the per-account price. An agency going from 10 to 22 client profiles mid-contract adds the new workspaces, then assigns each person a role inside only the workspaces they cover. The fifth teammate joins as a Writer on three clients and never sees the other 19 accounts.
RecurPost’s honest cost line at this scale is the team fee. RecurPost charges $20 per month for each member past the 3 included on Agency, so a nine-person team pays $120 per month on top of $79.
Vista Social covers 15 profiles and 2 users at $79 per month, or 30 profiles at $149 on Advanced, and backs them with a custom report builder, social listening (a $75 add-on), and review management that RecurPost does not offer. X costs $29 extra there. Sendible starts at $29 per month and onboards clients password-free, though its per-plan value thins out toward 20 or more accounts. SocialBee runs $29 to $99, with approvals and CSV import from its $49 tier.
You Want Deeper Analytics or Ads Management
| Closest fit | Metricool on a budget, Sprout Social or Hootsuite at enterprise scale |
| Metricool fits when | Analytics plus ads management have to sit in one dashboard on a small budget |
| Sprout Social or Hootsuite fits when | Governance and listening budgets already exist |
| RecurPost fits when | Clients want white-label PDF reports, boosting published Meta posts covers the ads need, and nobody is buying listening or competitor benchmarks |
Metricool is the lowest-priced option in this group. Metricool’s free plan covers 1 brand with up to 20 posts per month (without X or LinkedIn publishing), Metricool Starter covers 5 brands at $25 per month or 10 brands at $45, and Metricool runs ads management inside the same dashboard. One Metricool brand holds one client’s whole profile set, so 10 brands means 10 clients. X publishing costs extra as a Metricool add-on.
Sprout Social and Hootsuite sit at the enterprise price band. Sprout Social’s Standard plan runs $199 per seat per month on annual billing ($249 monthly), with listening sold as an add-on from Standard upward. Hootsuite runs $99 to $399 per user per month on annual billing, with approval workflows at the $399 Advanced tier. Agorapulse covers listening at $99 per user per month ($79 annual) with strong inbox tooling, and Agorapulse’s one-step approvals start on its $149 Professional plan. RecurPost prices well below that band and covers one corner of it, the white-label client report, on its Agency plan at $79 per month.
RecurPost’s coverage of this trigger has defined edges on both the reporting and the ads side. RecurPost boosts published Facebook and Instagram posts into ads, with budget, audience, and duration set inside RecurPost and billing through the connected Meta ad account. RecurPost does not build ads from scratch and does not run Google, LinkedIn, or TikTok ads. RecurPost’s Custom Reports builder assembles 200+ metrics across 10 platforms with a drag-and-drop editor, 58 templates, and 11 chart types. RecurPost reports carry audience demographics, Meta ads reporting metrics, and Google Business Profile reviews, and RecurPost delivers each white-label PDF as a download or by email to up to 25 recipients. RecurPost’s Chat with Reports AI answers questions about a report in plain language.
RecurPost has no social listening, no sentiment analysis, and no competitor benchmarking at any price. A buyer who sells listening or benchmarking to clients belongs on Metricool, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Agorapulse. Sked Social itself sells Social Listening covering brand, competitor, and keyword monitoring, and scopes listening access per user, so a team leaving Sked Social for listening depth is leaving for a different reason than this one.

You Are Really an Instagram-First Shop
| Closest fit | Planoly for a storefront, Later for creator monetization |
| Planoly fits when | A solo Instagram creator wants grid planning plus a storefront |
| Later fits when | Creator monetization matters more than X or Google Business Profile |
| Sked Social still fits when | The roster still needs X or Google Business Profile with approvals |
Sked Social’s Schedugram roots show in its Instagram depth, and some buyers only ever used that part. Planoly serves solo Instagram-first creators at $16 per month with grid planning as the core of the product and a creator storefront attached. Planoly publishes X manually only and skips Google Business Profile entirely. Later starts at $25 per month for 8 profiles with Instagram planning and creator monetization tools, and Later removed X in August 2025 and has never covered Google Business Profile.
Both picks cost less than Sked Social, and both remove platforms a Sked Social user has today. A team publishing Instagram plus X, or Instagram plus Google Business Profile, belongs in the earlier groups instead.
An Instagram-first team on Sked Social also loses one specific thing by leaving. Sked Social’s external review link previews the Instagram grid, so a client approves the grid layout rather than a list of individual posts. A team whose clients sign off that way has a real case for staying.
Where RecurPost Fits a Sked Social Team, and Where It Does Not
RecurPost fits the agency that Sked Social’s packaging squeezed. A 20-account roster pays RecurPost $79 flat with 3 team members and a separate workspace per client. RecurPost publishes to X on every paid plan, and RecurPost’s X Wallet, funded by the account from $10.80, pays X’s $0.20 per-link posting fee. RecurPost’s Google Business Profile posts carry CTA buttons plus rejection monitoring. RecurPost surfaces a failed post against 850+ documented platform failure types instead of leaving a silent gap in the calendar. Bulk CSV, RSS import, white-label reports, an inbox with AI replies, Instagram DM keyword automation, and recurring content libraries ride along.
RecurPost does not fit a Sked Social team that depends on any of these:
- RecurPost has no social listening and no sentiment analysis. Sked Social sells Social Listening covering brand, competitor, and keyword monitoring.
- RecurPost offers no competitor benchmarking.
- RecurPost configures approval stages account-wide, and only the account owner edits them. Sked Social configures its approval chain per brand and per campaign.
- RecurPost charges $20 per month for each team member past the 3 included on Agency.
- RecurPost’s interface is utilitarian. It handles large client rosters fine and wins no design awards doing it.
- RecurPost does not publish to Snapchat and has no link-in-bio product, so Sked Social’s Snapchat push publishing and Sked Link have no RecurPost equivalent.
- RecurPost publishes X posts over 280 characters only when the client holds their own X Premium subscription.
Agencies that switched anyway did it for the pricing model and the approval coverage. RecurPost case studies show which rosters made that trade and why.
The RecurPost vs Sked Social comparison walks both tools feature by feature when Sked Social is your only other candidate.

Sked Social’s price advantage survives at one small roster shape and disappears as accounts or approvals stack up.
A three-person team running 6 profiles with no client approvals pays Sked Social less. Sked Social Grow costs $58 per month on annual billing for 6 profiles and 3 users, with the social inbox and brand-trained AI captions included. RecurPost needs Personal at $25, one $4 add-on account, and two $20 team members to match that shape, which totals $69. Sked Social Grow costs $11 a month less at that shape, and the RecurPost side carries team roles and the Kanban board at that price.
A solo operator on two or three platforms flips the answer. Sked Social Basic costs $24 per month, billed as $290 for the year, and covers 1 user and 1 social set (1 profile per platform) with no approvals and no inbox. RecurPost Starter covers 2 social accounts for $9 per month, and Buffer covers 3 channels for free.
A 20-account agency that needs client approvals pays Sked Social about $249 per month, meaning Accelerate at $166 plus 10 extra profiles at $100 per year each. RecurPost Agency covers the same 20 accounts at $79 with client workspaces and the approval workflow included. The gap runs about $170 a month, or roughly $2,040 a year. Vista Social lands between them at $108 loaded for 15 profiles once X joins, and buys listening capability with the difference.
A six-profile team that wants client approvals without jumping to Accelerate has the tightest choice. Metricool Advanced covers approvals at $67 per month for 5 brands, which is the lowest-priced approvals path at that shape. RecurPost’s approval workflow arrives with Agency at $79 for 20 social accounts. Sked Social’s approvals add-on, not its base price, is what breaks the value here.
When Staying on Sked Social Is the Right Call
Sked Social keeps real advantages nobody on this page fully replaces. Sked Social’s no-login review portals gave healthcare and multi-location teams a compliance process built around a link, and clients approve or reject from a phone with comments attached. Sked Social includes X and Google Business Profile with no add-on fee, which Vista Social, Metricool, HeyOrca, Later, and Planoly cannot all say. Sked Link covers link-in-bio, Snapchat publishing works by push, and RecurPost offers neither. Brand-trained AI captions ship on every Sked Social plan.
Sked Social also closed the reviewer-chasing gap in August 2026. Sked Social emails every listed reviewer the moment posts reach Ready to Review on an External Review Link. Sked Social then sends per-reviewer reminders daily or weekly, at a time and timezone the agency picks, until that reviewer’s queue clears. Sked Social’s reviewers still need no account. Sked Social includes this on Accelerate and sells it as an add-on on Grow.
Sked Social’s Approvals Board went live the next day, on August 5, 2026. Sked Social’s Approvals Board shows posts as cards in columns by approval status, moves a card’s status by drag, and collapses the columns nobody needs that morning. Sked Social opens the Board to every customer with Approvals access at no extra cost.
A team whose only real friction was chasing reviewers already has the fix. Stay on Sked Social when the roster sits at 10 or fewer profiles on Accelerate, clients approve happily through the portal, and each client needs its own chain shape. Retraining ten clients on a new approval flow can cost more in churn risk than a year of software savings returns.

Moving Off Sked Social
Sked Social bills the year upfront, so check your renewal date first and time the cutover against it. A move from Sked Social to RecurPost takes five steps:
- Download media and copy captions from the Sked Social library before access lapses.
- Rebuild each Sked Social post status as a RecurPost workflow stage. A “ready for client review” status becomes a client review stage with a 72-hour deadline that reschedules the post, and the account owner sets that up once for every client.
- Assign each teammate a role inside only the workspaces they cover, using a template or a custom permission set.
- Send password-free invites so each client connects their own accounts instead of handing over credentials.
- Import the last six months of posted content per profile from each connected social account, which rebuilds a working content library without CSV formatting.
A brand-new client profile with no posting history has nothing to import and opens on an empty RecurPost calendar. Build that one from the content library instead.
Sked Social Alternatives FAQs
Which Sked Social Alternative Fits an Agency?
That depends on the gap pushing the agency off Sked Social, and no tool on this page fits every roster. RecurPost fits when the sign-off chain needs named stages whose deadlines act on the post, when each person needs different access per client, and when the roster includes X or Google Business Profile, at $79 per month for 20 social accounts. HeyOrca fits an agency with no X clients that can price per client workspace at $59. Vista Social fits at 15 profiles when listening, reporting depth, or review management justify a $108 loaded cost. Metricool fits when analytics and ads management have to share one dashboard on a small budget. Sprout Social and Hootsuite fit agencies whose governance and listening budgets already exist. Sked Social itself stays the fit when each client or campaign needs its own differently shaped approval chain, or when the roster sits at 10 or fewer profiles on Accelerate and clients already approve through the review portal.
How Much Does Sked Social Cost per Profile?
Sked Social Basic costs $24 per month for 1 user and 1 social set (1 profile per platform), so its per-profile cost depends on how many platforms you connect. Grow works out to about $9.67 per profile (6 profiles at $58), and Accelerate to $16.60 per profile (10 profiles at $166), all on annual billing. Extra Sked Social profiles cost $80 per year on Grow and $100 per year on Accelerate. RecurPost’s Agency plan works out to $3.95 per profile (20 accounts at $79 monthly).
Which Sked Social Alternatives Include Client Approvals Without an Add-On?
RecurPost puts the internal and external approval workflow and client workspaces on its Agency plan at $79 per month for 20 social accounts. HeyOrca includes default approvals on Basic at $59 per client workspace and custom approval chains on Pro at $149. Vista Social includes approvals in its $79 Professional plan. Sked Social charges $500 to $1,000 per year for approvals below its $166 Accelerate tier, Buffer holds them to Team at $12 per channel, and Metricool holds them to Advanced at $67.
Is There a Free Sked Social Alternative?
Buffer’s free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Metricool’s free plan manages 1 brand with up to 20 posts per month, without X or LinkedIn publishing. HeyOrca’s free tier covers 2 profiles and 15 posts per month for 1 user, without approvals. RecurPost has no free plan. RecurPost runs a 14-day free trial with no credit card instead, and RecurPost’s paid floor is Starter at $9 per month for 2 social accounts. Sked Social sells no free plan, and its cheapest tier costs $290 per year for one user and one social set (one profile per platform).
Which Sked Social Alternatives Keep X Publishing Included?
RecurPost, Buffer, and Publer publish to X on standard paid plans, and RecurPost’s X Wallet, funded by the account from $10.80, pays X’s $0.20 per-link posting fee. Vista Social charges $29 per month for X and Metricool sells it as an add-on. HeyOrca dropped direct X publishing in April 2026, Later removed X in August 2025, and Planoly posts to X manually only. Sked Social itself includes X, so check this row twice before switching anywhere.
What Does Replacing Sked Social Cost at 20 Profiles?
Sked Social needs Accelerate plus 10 extra profiles for 20 accounts, about $249 per month on annual billing. RecurPost Agency covers 20 social accounts at $79 per month with 3 team members and the approval workflow included. Vista Social Advanced covers 30 profiles at $149 plus $29 for X. Buffer Team reaches $240 per month at 20 channels.
Do Any Alternatives Match Sked Social’s No-Login Review Portals for Client Sign-Off?
RecurPost’s clients open a shareable calendar without logging in, then approve each post or request changes with one button, and a change request sends the post back to Writing with their comments. RecurPost’s clients also join through a password-free email or link invite and connect their own accounts. RecurPost includes client workspaces and the client review stage on its Agency plan at $79 per month. HeyOrca comes closest per workspace, with link-based client review from its $59 Basic plan. Sked Social’s own portal adds an Instagram grid view and an optional calendar view, and it costs $1,000 per year as an add-on below the Accelerate tier.
Does RecurPost Have Team Roles and Permissions Like Sked Social’s?
RecurPost includes team roles and permissions on every plan from Starter at $9 per month. RecurPost ships Contributor, Writer, Editor, and Publisher templates, and the owner can build a custom role from individual permission checkboxes. RecurPost assigns each role per workspace, so one person holds a different role for each client. Sked Social scopes a collaborator with per-user permission checkboxes covering social account visibility, library collections, post statuses, reports, and listening, and Sked Social’s administrators always hold full access.
What Happens in RecurPost When a Client Misses an Approval Deadline?
RecurPost acts on the rule the account owner set for that stage. RecurPost gives each stage a deadline of 4, 8, 24, 48, or 72 hours or 7 days, then holds the post, approves it automatically, escalates it, or reschedules it. RecurPost’s default client review stage runs 72 hours and reschedules the post by one day. RecurPost warns the assigned role at 50 percent and 80 percent of that window and again once it passes.
Are There Apps Like Sked Social With Approval Stages and Deadlines That Act?
RecurPost runs named workflow stages on a Kanban board, and each stage carries a deadline of 4, 8, 24, 48, or 72 hours or 7 days plus a rule the account owner picks: hold the post, approve it automatically, escalate it, or reschedule it. RecurPost places that workflow and client workspaces on its Agency plan at $79 per month. Vista Social routes multi-stage approvals in a set order from its $149 Advanced tier and escalates through the ApproveThis integration. Sked Social’s internal approvals add-on unlocks a customizable status sequence, and Sked Social emails each reviewer daily or weekly until that reviewer’s queue clears. An agency that needs a differently shaped chain for each client stays better served by Sked Social, because RecurPost’s stages are account-wide and only the account owner edits them.
Does RecurPost Have an Approvals Board Like Sked Social’s Approvals Board?
RecurPost includes a Kanban board on every plan. RecurPost moves each post across the board as a card with an assignee, labels, and a media preview, through the workflow stage columns, bookended by Ideas and Scheduled. Sked Social’s Approvals Board is a Kanban-style view inside its Approvals section, where cards sit in columns by approval status and a drag changes the status. Sked Social opens that Board to every customer with Approvals access at no extra cost.
Does RecurPost Have a Link-in-Bio Like Sked Link?
No. RecurPost has no link-in-bio product and no Snapchat publishing. Teams selling either to clients should weigh Planoly ($16 per month, with a creator storefront) or Later ($25 per month, with its Mavely-powered Link in Bio) despite their X and Google Business Profile gaps.

RecurPost has no social listening, no link-in-bio page, and no Snapchat publishing, and RecurPost configures its approval stages account-wide rather than per client. A team already running Accelerate with 10 or fewer profiles has a sound reason to stay on Sked Social. That holds while its clients approve happily through the review portal.
