Zoho Social alternatives are social media management platforms that replace some combination of Zoho Social’s publishing, approvals, client access, and monitoring. The switching decision usually starts with one ceiling: a Zoho Social brand connects one account per platform, and the plan ladder jumps from Premium at $65 per month for one brand to Agency at $320 per month for 10. Approvals, client access, and how deeply your team relies on Zoho CRM and Zoho Desk decide the rest.
Brand and Roster Decision Table
Find the row that matches your roster. Each row maps the four inputs that decide a Zoho Social switch to the plan or alternative that fits.
| Brand count | Client access needed | Approvals needed | Zoho suite dependence | Viable plan or alternative |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 brand | No | No | Any | Stay on Zoho Social Standard ($15/mo) |
| 1 brand, 3 people | No | Yes | Uses Zoho CRM or Desk, or WhatsApp inbox | Stay on Zoho Social Premium ($65/mo) |
| 1 brand, 3 people | No | Yes | None | Zoho Premium ($65) or RecurPost Agency ($79); Zoho is cheaper |
| 2 to 5 brands | No | Yes | None | RecurPost Agency ($79), or Metricool ($25 for 5 brands, approvals at $67) |
| 2 to 5 brands | Yes, client sign-off | Yes | None | RecurPost Agency ($79) or Sendible (approvals from $99) |
| 10 brands | Yes, branded client portal | Yes | Any | Stay on Zoho Social Agency ($320/mo) |
| 10 brands | Yes, client sign-off without a portal | Yes | None | RecurPost (about $209/mo for 40 accounts and 5 people) |
| Any | Any | Any | Heavy: social leads into Zoho CRM, tickets into Zoho Desk | Stay on Zoho Social |

Zoho Social’s brand unit is the reason this table exists. One brand covers up to 14 channels on Standard and Professional and 16 on Premium, but never two accounts on the same platform. A second Facebook Page or a second Instagram account needs a second brand, which cost $17 per month on Professional (up to 5) and $23 per month on Premium in the July check.
Stay in the Zoho Ecosystem
Zoho Social pays off most inside the wider Zoho suite. Premium adds Zoho CRM integration (social leads and contacts into the CRM, rule-based lead generation) and Zoho Desk integration (tickets from social updates, rule-based ticket generation), plus an inbox with assignment rules, saved replies, and WhatsApp and Telegram messages. No tool on this page feeds leads into Zoho CRM or tickets into Zoho Desk natively.
Zoho Social is also cheap at one brand. Standard cost $15 per month on monthly billing ($10 annual) for one brand and one team member in the July check, and a free plan covers 1 brand across 6 channels. Premium at $65 includes 3 team members, content approvals and workflow, custom roles and permissions inside a brand, custom reports, and Zia AI reply drafting in the inbox.
Stay on Zoho Social when any of these is true:
- The team runs Zoho CRM or Zoho Desk and wants social activity flowing into them.
- Client or customer conversations run on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- The roster is one brand, where Standard or Premium undercuts every alternative here.
- The agency sells a branded client portal, which Zoho Social’s Agency plan provides.
Move to Independent Multi-Brand Scheduling
Leave Zoho Social when the brand unit stops fitting the roster: several client brands, more than one account on the same platform, and no dependence on Zoho CRM or Desk.
RecurPost
RecurPost prices per social account, so a second Facebook Page is a $4 line item rather than a new brand. Its Agency plan covers 20 social accounts and 3 team members for $79 per month, with a separate workspace per client. It publishes to Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, and Bluesky, passes X’s $0.20 per-link fee through a prepaid X Wallet, takes bulk CSV uploads and RSS imports, and documents 850+ platform errors so a failed post shows its cause and can be retried from History.
Metricool
Metricool also prices per brand, but generously: Starter covers 5 brands at $25 per month or 10 brands at $45, with unlimited publishing and ads management in the same dashboard. X publishing is a $10 per account add-on, and approvals start on Advanced at $67.
Buffer
Buffer prices per channel: free for 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, then $6 per channel per month with unlimited scheduling. It publishes to Mastodon, which Zoho Social also covers, and holds approvals until its Team plan at $12 per channel. Per-channel pricing stays cheap under roughly 10 channels and inflates past that.
The directory of social media scheduling alternatives runs the same checks across the whole category; this page runs them for Zoho Social only.
Approvals, Client Access, and Listening
Approvals
Zoho Social starts content approvals and workflow, and custom roles and permissions, together on Premium at $65 per month for one brand and 3 team members. Below Premium, a team reviews client posts outside the tool.
RecurPost puts client workspaces, the internal and external approval workflow, and password-free client onboarding on its Agency plan at $79 per month. The account owner sets stages once for the whole account, and posts move across a Kanban board as cards. RecurPost’s default workflow chains four steps:
- A writer drafts the post in the Writing stage.
- A manager reviews the post in the Manager Review stage within 48 hours, or RecurPost escalates it.
- The client approves the post in the Client Review stage within 72 hours, or RecurPost moves the post one day later.
- A client who requests changes sends the post back to Writing with their comments.
Each stage carries a timeout of 4, 8, 24, 48, or 72 hours, or 7 days, and when it runs out RecurPost holds the post, approves it automatically, escalates it, or reschedules it. Roles come from Contributor, Writer, Editor, and Publisher templates or custom roles, assigned per workspace. Zoho Social assigns custom roles inside a brand, so both tools have roles; the difference is scope.
Planable builds its product around review, priced per workspace from $39 per month on Basic with optional approvals, and $59 on Pro with required approvals; analytics is a $14 per workspace add-on. HeyOrca prices per client workspace at $59 for Basic and $149 for Pro with unlimited users and link-based review, and has not published directly to X since April 2026.
Client Access
Zoho Social keeps client access on its Agency plan at $320 per month: client invite, free logins for clients, a custom client view, portal customization, and agency-branded reports with scheduled or emailed delivery.
RecurPost clients approve each post or request changes on a shareable calendar without logging in, and connect their own accounts through an email or link invite, on Agency at $79. RecurPost has no branded client portal on your own domain, so an agency whose client relationship rests on that portal should stay on Zoho Social. Sendible includes Client Connect, its password-free client onboarding, on every plan from $35 per month (Core, 6 profiles), and starts approvals on Plus at $99.
A three-person studio with four client brands shows the difference. On Zoho Social, Premium plus three brand add-ons came to $134 per month with approvals but no client logins, or $320 for Agency with client access. On RecurPost, the same 16 accounts sit in four client workspaces on one $79 Agency plan, a freelancer holds the Writer role only in the workspaces they cover, and a client who goes quiet past 72 hours has the post rescheduled rather than published unapproved. The RecurPost case studies include Orbital Media, an agency whose failed posts dropped from 6 to 8 a week to nearly zero a month.
Listening
Zoho Social’s monitoring dashboard runs streams for mentions, reviews, keyword searches, and hashtag searches across Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, and Google Business Profile reviews, with 5 columns on Professional and 15 on Premium. That covers brand hygiene; it stops short of full listening with sentiment.
RecurPost has no social listening and no sentiment analysis. A buyer who needs more than Zoho’s monitoring moves up: Sprout Social sells listening as an add-on from its Standard plan at $199 per seat on annual billing, Hootsuite includes Talkwalker-powered listening on higher tiers, and Agorapulse covers listening with a strong inbox at $99 per user per month ($79 annual).

Price by Roster Scenario
| Roster | Zoho Social (monthly billing) | RecurPost (monthly billing) | Other options | Which way it goes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 brand, 6 to 7 accounts, solo | Standard $15 | Personal $25 + 1 or 2 accounts = $29 to $33 | Buffer about $36 to $42 | Zoho Social |
| 1 brand, 3 people, approvals | Premium $65 | Agency $79 | Planable Pro $59 per workspace | Zoho Social, or Planable |
| 4 client brands, 16 accounts, 3 people, client sign-off | Premium + 3 brands = $134 (no client logins), or Agency $320 | Agency $79 | Metricool $25 (approvals need $67); Sendible Plus $99 | RecurPost |
| 10 client brands, about 40 accounts, 5 people | Agency $320 | $79 + 20 accounts at $4 + 2 members at $20 + one $10 calendar block = $209 | Metricool $45 for 10 brands without approvals | RecurPost, unless the branded portal or Zoho CRM matters |
Sources: Zoho Social prices verified July 16, 2026 (annual billing saves up to 33%, bringing Agency to about $230); RecurPost, Metricool, Sendible, Planable, and Buffer verified October 12 and 13, 2026.
RecurPost’s plans and pricing list the allowances behind those rows: Starter covers 2 accounts at $9, Personal 5 at $25, and Agency 20 accounts and 3 team members at $79, with extra accounts at $4, extra members at $20, and further blocks of 10 shareable client calendars at $10 per month. Zoho Social is cheap at one brand and expensive at four, and RecurPost runs the other way.
Migration from Zoho Social
- Brand mapping. Map each Zoho Social brand to a RecurPost client workspace. A brand that needed a second brand only to hold a second Facebook Page or Instagram account collapses back into one workspace, because RecurPost has no one-per-platform limit.
- Permissions. Zoho Social custom roles do not transfer. Rebuild them as RecurPost roles, from templates or custom permissions, and assign each person a role in every workspace they cover. Rebuild the Zoho approval chain once as RecurPost workflow stages, since RecurPost’s stages are account-wide.
- Scheduled posts. Queued Zoho Social posts do not transfer. Export them, copy captions, and download media from Zoho’s library, then load them back through bulk CSV. RecurPost also imports up to 6 months of published posts from each connected account.
- Reports. Zoho Social exports posts in bulk as CSV with filters and individual posts as PDF or PNG, and exports reports from Premium up. Pull the reports your clients will ask about later before cancelling.
- Zoho CRM dependencies. Social lead capture into Zoho CRM, CRM contact monitoring, and Desk ticket creation stop when Zoho Social stops. List every rule-based lead or ticket flow first; if any is business-critical, keep Zoho Social for that brand or rebuild the flow before switching.
Each client reconnects their own accounts through a RecurPost email or link invite. The RecurPost migration checklist runs the longer version of the publishing move.
Final Fit and Non-Fit
Route 1: Stay in the Zoho Ecosystem
- Fits: a single-brand business, a team that feeds social leads into Zoho CRM or tickets into Zoho Desk, a roster whose conversations run on WhatsApp or Telegram, and an agency that sells a branded client portal.
- Does not fit: a multi-brand roster without those dependencies, where the one-account-per-platform brand unit and the $65-to-$320 jump cost more than the suite returns.
Route 2: Move to Independent Multi-Brand Scheduling
- Fits: an agency or studio with several client brands, more than one account on the same platform, client sign-off without a portal, and no Zoho CRM dependence. The RecurPost social media scheduler runs that roster at $79 for 20 accounts and 3 team members, with stage deadlines that act and per-workspace roles.
- Does not fit: a team that needs social listening or sentiment analysis, a WhatsApp or Telegram inbox, Mastodon publishing, Zoho CRM or Desk integration, or a branded client portal on its own domain. RecurPost has none of those. It also charges $20 per month for each team member past the 3 included on Agency, offers no competitor benchmarking, and publishes X posts beyond 280 characters only when the client holds their own X Premium subscription.
The RecurPost vs Zoho Social comparison walks both tools feature by feature.
Zoho Social Alternatives FAQs
What Does Zoho Social’s Agency Plan Cost?
Zoho Social’s Agency plan cost $320 per month on monthly billing, or about $230 billed annually, for 10 client brands and 5 team members in the July 16, 2026 check. Agency Plus covers 20 brands. Client invites, free client logins, portal customization, and agency-branded reports start on Agency.
Can Zoho Social Manage Two Facebook Pages on One Plan?
One Zoho Social brand connects one account per platform, so a second Facebook Page requires a second brand. RecurPost, Buffer, and Publer price per social account or channel instead, so a second Page is one more unit.
Where Do Approvals Start on Zoho Social?
Zoho Social starts content approvals and workflow, along with custom roles and permissions, on Premium at $65 per month for one brand and 3 team members. RecurPost includes its approval workflow on Agency at $79 for 20 accounts, Planable from $39 per workspace, and Metricool on Advanced at $67.
Which Zoho Social Alternatives Let Clients Approve Without Logging In?
RecurPost clients approve or request changes on a shareable calendar without logging in, on Agency at $79 per month. HeyOrca reviews through a link without a client account. Zoho Social gives clients free logins on its Agency plan at $320 per month.
Does RecurPost Integrate With Zoho CRM?
No. No tool on this page feeds social leads into Zoho CRM or tickets into Zoho Desk natively. A team that depends on those integrations should stay on Zoho Social, at least for the brands that rely on them.
Do Any Zoho Social Alternatives Manage WhatsApp?
None of RecurPost, Buffer, Metricool, Planable, or Sendible manages a WhatsApp inbox. Zoho Social includes WhatsApp Business and Telegram in its inbox from Premium up, which is a genuine reason to stay.
Which Zoho Social Alternatives Include Social Listening?
Sprout Social sells listening as an add-on from its Standard plan, Hootsuite includes it on higher tiers, and Agorapulse covers it alongside its inbox. Zoho Social’s own monitoring dashboard covers mention and keyword streams without sentiment. RecurPost has no social listening.
Is There a Free Zoho Social Alternative?
Buffer’s free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, and Metricool’s free plan covers 1 brand. Zoho Social keeps its own free plan with 1 brand across 6 channels and 1 user, so a free tier alone is a weak reason to switch.
