Vista Social alternatives divide by the reason a team is leaving: the $29 X publishing add-on, a roster stuck between the 15-profile and 30-profile plan tiers, suite pricing for a scheduler, a staged client approval chain gated at Advanced, or analytics without the suite price. Each trigger points to a different replacement, and one trigger points back to Vista Social. See the alternatives at a glance.
Vista Social’s $79 Professional plan becomes $108 with X publishing and $183 with X plus listening, before any annual discount. That gap between sticker price and loaded price moves more teams off Vista Social than any feature complaint. Feature complaints stay rare for a reason. RecurPost ran a hands-on audit of Vista Social in July 2026 and rated Vista Social’s feature set stronger than RecurPost’s overall. Teams leave over narrower things: add-on stacking, plan-bundle jumps, and paying suite prices for a scheduler they use ten percent of.
Vista Social Alternatives and Competitors at a Glance
Six tools close at least one of the Vista Social gaps above, and one of the six is Vista Social itself. The table below matches each switching trigger to its closest fit.
| The trigger that’s moving you | Closest fit | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| The $29/mo X add-on | RecurPost | $9/mo (2 accounts) |
| Your roster sits between 15 and 30 profiles | RecurPost | $79/mo (Agency, 20 accounts) |
| You want simple and cheap | Buffer | Free (3 channels) |
| A staged client approval chain below Vista Social’s $149 Advanced tier | RecurPost or Sendible | $79/mo (Agency) or $99/mo (Plus) |
| Analytics without the suite price | Metricool | Free (1 brand) |
| You need more listening, not less | Vista Social itself, or Sprout Social | $154/mo loaded or $199 per seat |
Vista Social alternatives are social media management platforms that replace some combination of Vista Social’s scheduling, listening, review management, and DM automation stack. No single replacement matches Vista Social’s overall feature depth, so the trigger decides the shortlist. A team whose real complaint is Vista Social’s product quality has a different problem, and nothing in the table below solves it.
| # | Tool | Closest fit for | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | RecurPost | Flat per-account pricing with X included and no add-on stacking | $9/mo (2 accounts); Agency $79/mo for 20 accounts and 3 users |
| 2 | Vista Social | Teams that open the listening, review, and DM automation depth weekly | $79/mo (15 profiles); loaded to $183/mo with X and listening |
| 3 | HeyOrca | Approval-first agencies with no X clients | Free tier; then $59 and $149 per workspace |
| 4 | Sendible | Password-free client onboarding on a $29 base plan | $29/mo; Client Connect from $99/mo |
| 5 | Metricool | Analytics and ads management without suite pricing | Free (1 brand); $25/mo for 5 brands |
| 6 | Buffer | Simple, cheap scheduling under roughly 8 profiles | Free (3 channels); $6/channel/mo after |

A 20-account agency with X clients and no listening usage shows that gap most clearly, and the sections below keep returning to it.
Why Teams Leave Vista Social
Vista Social earns its reputation. RecurPost’s audit found a custom report builder with scheduled client delivery, a DM automation flow builder across eight networks, listening that reaches Reddit and review sites like Trustpilot and Yelp, ads management inside the same dashboard, full white labeling with a custom domain, and an image editor the auditor called amazing. No other tool here matches that depth. Vista Social’s departures come from cost and packaging, not from product quality.
Vista Social’s add-ons stack. X publishing costs $29 per month on every plan, including the $349 Scale tier, so the network most business rosters still post to daily sits outside the base price. Vista Social’s cross-web listening costs $75 per month. Vista Social’s employee advocacy starts at $199 per month.
Vista Social’s plan bundles jump in big steps. Professional covers 15 profiles at $79 per month. Profile 16 forces Advanced at $149, and profile 31 forces Scale at $349. An agency signing its sixteenth client account pays $70 per month for that one connection, because Vista Social sells no per-profile add-on between tiers.
Vista Social’s breadth costs money whether a team opens it or not. Review management, the Vista Page link-in-bio, ads tooling, and advocacy infrastructure sit inside the price trajectory of every plan. A team that schedules posts and reads a monthly report funds a suite it never enters.
Vista Social gates some workflow features by tier as well. Multi-stage approval workflows, custom report templates, and the Zapier, Make, and Slack integrations arrive at Advanced ($149). Vista Social’s external profile-connect link and white-label setup sit behind Scale ($349).
A team that uses the listening, the review inbox, and the report builder every week has no reason to read further. The staying-on-Vista-Social section below makes that case properly, because for that buyer the $183 loaded price is fair.
What a Vista Social Replacement Has to Cover
Vista Social prices in plan bundles that mix profiles, user seats, DM contact caps, and AI credits, so a sticker-to-sticker comparison misleads in both directions. Convert your situation to one number first: base plan, plus $29 if any client posts to X, plus $75 if the team sells listening or monitors review sites. That loaded monthly cost is the number a replacement has to beat.
Run five checks against that roster:
- Price the loaded cost of the replacement too. Several tools on this page sell X or listening as add-ons of their own, and Metricool is one of them.
- Confirm X publishing terms in writing. HeyOrca removed direct X publishing in April 2026, and RecurPost publishes X posts over 280 characters only when the account holds its own X Premium.
- Find the plan tier that includes approvals, and check what the replacement does when an approver misses a deadline. Vista Social puts multi-stage approvals on Advanced at $149, and several cheaper rivals hold approvals behind a higher tier too.
- List the Vista Social features your team opened in the last month. A five-client roster that opened three of them pays for the rest. A replacement missing a feature you never use costs you nothing, and a replacement missing one you use weekly fails no matter the savings.
- Map the migration before canceling. Vista Social keeps drafts inside the calendar rather than a standalone library, so staged content needs copying out.
The coverage table settles the first three checks for the tools this page names most often.
| Tool | X publishing | Social listening | Client approvals start at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vista Social | Add-on, $29/mo | Add-on, $75/mo | Included; multi-stage at Advanced, $149/mo |
| RecurPost | Included, every paid plan | No | Agency, $79/mo (staged workflow); roles and Kanban board on every plan from $9/mo |
| Buffer | Included | No | Team plan, $12/channel/mo |
| Metricool | Paid add-on | No | Advanced, $67/mo |
| Sprout Social | Included | Add-on, from Standard tier | Included |

RecurPost, Vista Social, Metricool, and Publer each control those approval steps through team roles.
| Tool | Team roles |
|---|---|
| RecurPost | Contributor, Writer, Editor, and Publisher templates plus custom roles, assigned per workspace, on every plan |
| Vista Social | Admin and restricted roles plus custom granular roles |
| Metricool | Manager, Editor, Content Creator, Analyst, and Client presets plus custom roles |
| Publer | Admin, Editor, and Client roles, with approval set per member |

RecurPost’s directory of social media scheduling alternatives runs these same checks across the whole category. The six groups below run them for the Vista Social case only.
Vista Social Alternatives by Switching Trigger
The $29 X Add-On Is Your Whole Problem
| Closest fit | RecurPost |
| RecurPost fits when | X is a publishing target rather than an ads, boosting, or automation channel |
| Vista Social’s $29 add-on still fits when | Your team runs X ads or X automations through it |
RecurPost includes X publishing on every paid plan, starting with the $9 Starter plan. RecurPost routes X’s $0.20 per-link fee through one X Wallet topped up with pay-as-you-go credits from $10.80, so an agency covers the fee once for every client instead of setting up API billing per client. RecurPost publishes X posts longer than 280 characters only when the client holds their own X Premium subscription. Vista Social’s $29 add-on also bundles X boosting, X automations, and X analytics, which no scheduler-priced tool replaces.
Buffer publishes to X on its free plan and on Essentials at $6 per channel per month. Publer publishes to X at roughly $5 to $10 per account. Metricool does not fix this trigger, because Metricool sells X as a paid add-on too. HeyOrca removed direct X publishing in April 2026 and fixes nothing here.
Your Roster Sits Between Vista Social’s Plan Tiers
| Closest fit | RecurPost for per-account pricing, Vista Social Advanced for seat-heavy teams |
| RecurPost fits when | The trigger is profile count and the team fits inside 3 members plus $20 for each extra member |
| Vista Social Advanced fits when | The team needs the 4 users that $149 carries more than it needs cheaper profiles |
RecurPost prices per social account and never per seat. RecurPost’s Agency plan covers 20 social accounts flat at $79 per month with 3 team members, and each account past 20 costs $4 per month. A 23-account roster costs $91 on RecurPost against $149 on Vista Social Advanced. A 30-account roster costs $119 against the same $149. The line crosses back once seats pile up: a fifth teammate on RecurPost Agency adds $40 to that $79, and Vista Social Advanced carries 4 users inside its price.
Publer scales the same linear way at roughly $5 to $10 per account, with bulk tools included and no inbox or listening at all. Buffer scales linearly too, though 30 channels on Essentials cost $180 per month and Buffer’s approvals need the $12-per-channel Team plan, so Buffer leaves this group early.
A three-person team running 23 client accounts is the clean case for the switch. The same team at eight people is not, and Vista Social Advanced keeps a real case at $149 for its user capacity.
You Pay for a Suite and Use a Scheduler
| Closest fit | Buffer under roughly 8 profiles, RecurPost at client-roster scale |
| Buffer fits when | A solo operator or small team needs no client approvals |
| RecurPost fits when | A client roster needs bulk loading, an inbox, and visible post failures |
| Neither replaces | A single Vista Social suite feature, which is the point of this group |
Buffer stays the simplest tool on this page. Buffer’s free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, and Essentials costs $6 per channel per month on monthly billing ($5 annual) with unlimited scheduling. Buffer’s edges are sharp, though. Buffer requires account credentials at connection, surfaces no error when a post silently fails, and holds approvals on the Team plan.
RecurPost fits the same trigger at client-roster scale. RecurPost takes CSV bulk uploads of hundreds of posts and imports the last 6 months of posted content from each connected account. RecurPost includes bulk CSV upload, team roles, and the Kanban board on every plan from $9 per month. RecurPost’s RSS and Google Alerts import is an add-on on Starter, then covers 2 feeds on Personal and 20 feeds on Agency. RecurPost handles 850+ documented platform error types, so a failed post surfaces with a reason instead of leaving a gap in the calendar that the client finds first. RecurPost’s client workspaces, per-client content libraries, staged approval workflow, and white-label reports arrive on the Agency plan at $79 per month. SocialBee sits between Buffer and RecurPost at $29 to $99, with approvals and CSV import arriving at its $49 tier. RecurPost’s recurring content libraries ride along for teams that reshare seasonal posts.
A 20-account agency that schedules, replies in the inbox, and sends one monthly report per client uses none of Vista Social’s suite. That agency pays $79 on RecurPost Agency and $178 on Vista Social Advanced with X.
You Want a Vista Social Alternative With Client Approvals Below the $149 Advanced Tier
| Closest fit | RecurPost for approval deadlines that act and per-client roles, HeyOrca for review-heavy rosters with no X clients |
| RecurPost fits when | The chain has named stages, each person needs different access per client, deadlines have to act on their own, and the roster also needs X publishing and per-account pricing |
| RecurPost does not fit when | The workflow has to differ from one client to the next, or the client relationship rests on a branded dashboard on your own domain |
| Sendible fits when | Password-free client onboarding matters most and the budget allows the $99 Plus plan |
Vista Social runs client approvals well. The trigger here is the tier those approvals arrive at. Vista Social routes multi-step approvals in a set order, always requires approval on a contributor’s posts, and lets team members and clients approve without logging in. Vista Social puts those multi-stage workflows on Advanced at $149 per month and its external profile-connect link on Scale at $349. Vista Social also offers a Kanban Board view alongside List and Calendar inside Vista Work projects, and reaches SLA reminders and escalation through the third-party ApproveThis integration.
| Approval capability | Vista Social | RecurPost | HeyOrca |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approval stages | Multi-step, routed in a set order | Work, internal review, and client review stages, renamed, added, or removed by the account owner | Draft, Awaiting approval, Approved, Revise |
| Board view | Kanban Board, List, and Calendar inside Vista Work projects | Kanban board of workflow stages on every plan | Month and day calendar views |
| When an approval runs late | SLA reminders and escalation through the ApproveThis integration | Holds, auto-approves, escalates, or reschedules after 4 hours to 7 days | Reminders 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days before publish, with no automatic action |
| Client approves without logging in | Yes | Yes, approve or request changes on the shareable calendar | Yes, link-based review |
| Multi-stage approvals start at | Advanced, $149/mo | Agency, $79/mo | Every paid workspace, $59/mo |

RecurPost runs approvals as a staged workflow on a Kanban board. The account owner configures the stages once for the whole account, because an agency does not change how it works from one client to the next. Each RecurPost post then moves across the board as a card with an assignee, labels, and a media preview, with Ideas and Scheduled columns at either end.
RecurPost’s default workflow chains four steps:
- A writer drafts the post in the Writing stage.
- A manager reviews the post in the Manager Review stage within 48 hours, or RecurPost escalates it.
- The client approves the post in the Client Review stage within 72 hours, or RecurPost reschedules it one day later.
- A client who requests changes sends the post back to Writing with their comments.
RecurPost sets each stage’s timeout at 4, 8, 24, 48, or 72 hours, or at 7 days. RecurPost warns the assigned role at 50 percent and 80 percent of that timeout and again once the stage is overdue. The account owner also picks what RecurPost does when the timeout runs out:
- RecurPost holds the post in its stage until someone acts.
- RecurPost approves the post automatically and moves it on.
- RecurPost escalates the post to the next approver.
- RecurPost reschedules the post, so a late client review never publishes on the wrong day.
RecurPost’s reschedule rule earns its keep at the client review stage. A client who goes quiet on a Friday launch post triggers that rule, and RecurPost moves the post to the next day instead of publishing it unapproved or dropping the slot.
RecurPost controls who acts at each stage through roles, and includes them on every plan from $9 per month.
| RecurPost role | What the role can do |
|---|---|
| Contributor | Writes their own drafts and sends them for review, with no access to other people’s posts or approvals |
| Writer | Writes and edits posts, manages the content library, and replies in the inbox |
| Editor | Approves posts at internal review stages, edits anyone’s work, and manages the inbox |
| Publisher | Publishes and schedules, handles client approvals, exports reports, and manages the team |
RecurPost also lets the owner edit a template or build a custom role by ticking individual permissions. RecurPost’s permissions cover posts, approvals and publishing, social profiles, the content library, the inbox, reports, DM automations, paid ads, client review, and workspace and team settings. Turning off a section such as Paid ads hides that page from the member’s sidebar entirely. A member who tries a blocked action sees the exact permission to ask the workspace owner for.
RecurPost assigns roles per workspace, so one person holds different roles for different clients. A freelancer can be a Writer for one client, an Editor for a second, and have no access to a third. RecurPost also names an Account Manager for each workspace. RecurPost’s Account Manager is a guaranteed second approver and can approve on the client’s behalf, and RecurPost logs every approve-on-behalf.
RecurPost sends each role only the alerts for the stages that role works in, by email and in the mobile app:
- RecurPost alerts a member when a post is assigned to them.
- RecurPost alerts approvers when posts are waiting on their review.
- RecurPost alerts the writer when a post is approved or sent back with changes.
- RecurPost alerts the assigned role as a stage nears or misses its timeout.
- RecurPost alerts the team when a client approves, rejects, or receives an urgent approval request.
- RecurPost alerts the owner when a publish succeeds, fails, or needs an account reconnected.
A 20-account agency maps onto that default workflow directly. A freelance writer drafts as a Contributor in the two workspaces they cover. The account manager clears Manager Review from the board within 48 hours, or the post escalates. The client opens RecurPost’s shareable calendar without logging in and approves each post or requests changes with one button, and a client who stays quiet past 72 hours gets the post rescheduled by a day. RecurPost onboards each of those clients without passwords: the client receives an email or link invite, connects their own accounts, and never shares credentials.
RecurPost’s staged workflow, client workspaces, and white-label reports sit on the Agency plan at $79 per month, which RecurPost pricing lists plan by plan. Sendible matches the password-free client onboarding through Client Connect from its $99 Plus plan, and Sendible’s per-plan value thins out toward 20 or more accounts. HeyOrca builds its whole product around review rounds, prices per client workspace with unlimited users, and lost direct X publishing in April 2026, which rules it out for X-carrying rosters.
You Want Analytics and White-Label Client Reports Without the Suite Price
| Closest fit | Metricool for budget analytics with ads management, RecurPost for client-facing white-label PDFs |
| Metricool fits when | Reporting plus ads management matters more than client-facing polish |
| RecurPost fits when | Clients expect white-label PDF reports across 10 platforms |
| RecurPost does not fit when | Reports have to go out on a schedule with nobody pressing send, or competitor benchmarking belongs in the report |
Metricool covers 1 brand free with up to 20 posts per month, 5 brands at $25, and 10 brands at $45, with Google Business Profile on every tier and ads management in the same dashboard. One Metricool brand holds one client’s whole profile set, which makes the $45 tier generous for a 10-client roster. Metricool’s free tier skips X and LinkedIn, Metricool sells X as a paid add-on, and Metricool’s approvals arrive at Advanced for $67.
RecurPost’s Custom Reports builder assembles 200+ metrics across 10 platforms by drag and drop, from 58 templates and 11 chart types. RecurPost’s reports carry audience demographics: age, gender, and location for Instagram and Facebook, and industry, seniority, and function for LinkedIn. RecurPost also pulls Meta ads reporting metrics and Google Business reviews into the same report, and its Chat with Reports AI answers questions about what ran. RecurPost delivers the finished report as a white-label PDF, either downloaded or emailed to up to 25 recipients, on the Agency plan at $79 per month.
Vista Social deserves one concession before any reporting-driven switch. Vista Social’s custom report builder produces stronger client-facing reports, with templates, scheduled email delivery, and white-label output. RecurPost has no scheduled or recurring report delivery, so someone on the team presses send every month. A 10-client roster sending one report per account per month makes that difference concrete: 10 sends on RecurPost, zero on Vista Social.
You Need More Listening, Reviews, or DM Flows, Not Less
| Closest fit | Staying on Vista Social |
| Vista Social fits when | $154/mo loaded for 2 users with listening costs less than the same depth anywhere else |
| Skip RecurPost here | RecurPost runs no social listening and no review management at any price, and RecurPost boosts published Facebook and Instagram posts rather than building or managing full ad campaigns |
Run the numbers before leaving Vista Social over the $75 listening add-on, because the add-on usually survives the comparison. Vista Social Professional plus listening costs $154 per month for 2 users and reaches Reddit, news sources, and review sites including Trustpilot, Yelp, Google Play, and TripAdvisor. Sprout Social’s Standard plan costs $199 per seat per month on annual billing and sells listening as a separate add-on on top. Hootsuite bundles deeper listening in tiers that run $199 to $399 per user annually. Agorapulse prices closer to Vista Social at $99 per user monthly, with listening scoped and quoted through a demo.
The same logic covers Vista Social’s review management and DM automation. Vista Social pulls App Store, Google Play, Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and OpenTable reviews into one inbox. Vista Social also runs a visual DM flow builder with comment-to-DM triggers across eight networks. RecurPost automates Instagram DMs by keyword with custom CTA buttons and goes no further, RecurPost manages no reviews, and RecurPost’s paid ads work stops at boosting published Facebook and Instagram posts rather than building or managing full ad campaigns.
A 15-profile brand team that opens the listening dashboard and the review inbox weekly fits Vista Social. A team leaving to get more of that depth ends up at Sprout Social or Hootsuite paying per seat, and a team leaving to pay less for it finds no cheaper option at that depth than the $75 add-on.
Where RecurPost Falls Short for a Vista Social Team
RecurPost gives up more against Vista Social than against any other tool in this directory, because Vista Social covers more of this feature surface than any other tool on this page.
- RecurPost has no social listening and no sentiment analysis, where Vista Social’s add-on reaches social networks, the open web, news, and review sites.
- RecurPost manages no reviews. App Store, Google Play, Trustpilot, Yelp, and TripAdvisor monitoring all stay with Vista Social.
- RecurPost has no employee advocacy product, and RecurPost’s paid ads work stops at boosting published Facebook and Instagram posts, with budget, audience, and duration set inside RecurPost and the spend billed through the connected Meta ad account. RecurPost builds no ads from scratch and runs no Google, LinkedIn, or TikTok ads. Vista Social boosts and manages ads on six networks from the dashboard.
- RecurPost’s platform list is narrower. RecurPost publishes to no Snapchat, no Reddit, and no Tumblr, monitors no review sites, and offers no link-in-bio product to replace Vista Page.
- RecurPost’s interface is utilitarian next to Vista Social’s. RecurPost ships a built-in image editor with platform-specific crop presets, and the July 2026 audit still rated Vista Social’s editor the stronger of the two.
- RecurPost offers no competitor benchmarking, which Vista Social includes in its reporting.
- RecurPost publishes X posts beyond 280 characters only when the client holds their own X Premium subscription.
- RecurPost includes the internal and external approval workflow on the Agency plan at $79 per month rather than on the $9 Starter plan, and RecurPost’s workflow stages are account-wide rather than per client.
- RecurPost charges $20 per month for each team member past the 3 included on Agency, where Vista Social Advanced carries 4 users at $149.
- RecurPost has no branded client dashboard on a custom domain, which Vista Social sells at Scale.
A team that monitors review sites for two of its five clients loses that workload on the day it switches. Teams that switched anyway did it on price and workflow coverage, not on feature count. The RecurPost case studies show which rosters made that trade and what they gave up.
The Pricing Math, Both Ways
Want the numbers for your own roster? The social media tool pricing calculator prices 36 schedulers, including Vista Social, for your profiles, seats, clients and must-have features, with the arithmetic shown.
Vista Social discounts annual billing by 20 percent, and most rivals discount by a similar share, so run the monthly numbers first and apply the discount after.
| Tool | Base plan (monthly billing) | Included | What changes the real cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vista Social Professional | $79 | 15 profiles, 2 users | X adds $29/mo; listening adds $75/mo; profile 16 forces Advanced |
| Vista Social Advanced | $149 | 30 profiles, 4 users | Same add-ons apply; profile 31 forces Scale at $349 |
| RecurPost Agency | $79 | 20 accounts, 3 members, staged approval workflow, client workspaces, white-label reports | Extra account $4/mo; extra member $20/mo; X and its link fee included |
| Buffer Essentials | $6 per channel | 1 user | Approvals need Team at $12/channel; failed posts surface no error |
| Metricool Starter | $25 | 5 brands (10 at $45) | X costs extra as an add-on; approvals at Advanced, $67/mo |
| Sprout Social Standard | $249 ($199/seat annual) | Per seat | Listening sold as an add-on on top |

Vista Social and RecurPost trade places depending on the roster.
A 20-profile agency with X clients and no listening saves the most by leaving. Vista Social needs Advanced plus the X add-on, which totals $178 per month. RecurPost Agency covers the same 20 accounts with X included at $79. The difference is $99 a month, or $1,188 a year, for a roster that uses none of Vista Social’s suite depth.
A 5-profile solo operator pays less almost anywhere else. Vista Social starts at $79 regardless of roster size. RecurPost Personal covers 5 accounts at $25, Buffer covers 5 channels at $30, and Metricool covers a small operation free or at $25.
A 15-profile brand team that uses listening and review management should stay. Vista Social Professional plus listening costs $154 for 2 users with review-site coverage included. Sprout Social prices the equivalent at $597 for 3 seats before its listening add-on, and RecurPost cannot run this workload at any price. Vista Social is the only fit in that row.
A 70-profile, 10-person agency also does better on Vista Social. RecurPost reaches 70 accounts at $279 ($79 plus 50 extra accounts at $4), then adds 7 extra members at $20 each for a total of $419. Vista Social Scale covers 70 profiles and 8 users at $349 monthly, and less on annual billing. RecurPost costs $70 more than Vista Social Scale before the X add-on and $41 more after it.
When Staying on Vista Social Is the Right Call
RecurPost’s own audit concluded that Vista Social’s feature set beats RecurPost’s overall, and this page would be dishonest to bury that. The right reason to leave Vista Social is a specific cost attached to a feature you skip, never product quality. Several buyer profiles should renew without reading another comparison.
Teams that open the suite weekly should stay. Vista Social’s report builder produces templated, white-labeled, scheduled client reports that nothing at scheduler prices matches. Vista Social’s listening add-on reaches social networks, the open web, news, Reddit, and six review platforms. Vista Social’s DM flow builder turns comments, story replies, and mentions into automated conversations across eight networks. Vista Social’s ads management for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and X lives in the same login.
Seat-heavy teams should stay too. Vista Social Advanced carries 4 users at $149 and Scale carries 8 at $349, while RecurPost includes 3 members and charges $20 per month for each additional one. The 70-profile scenario above shows where that math favors Vista Social.
Rosters built on platform breadth should stay as well. Vista Social publishes to Snapchat, Reddit, and Tumblr and monitors review sites, and RecurPost covers none of those. Agencies selling a branded client experience get a custom-domain white-label dashboard at Scale, which RecurPost’s white-label reports do not replace. Teams that publish threads and polls, post first comments across four networks, or lean on the built-in image editor lose real workflow by leaving. Vista Social also imports past posts from connected profiles, runs full publishing and inbox replies from its mobile apps, and gives every plan live chat support.
Vista Social’s loaded price is the honest test. A team getting $183 of weekly value from a $183 stack has no problem to solve.
Where RecurPost Fits, and Where It Does Not
RecurPost fits the buyer whose Vista Social invoice grew faster than their usage. The 20-account agency from the pricing section pays $79 flat on RecurPost Agency and publishes to X with the link fee paid from the account-funded X Wallet. That agency onboards every client through a password-free email or link invite, then runs its staged approval workflow inside a separate workspace per client. RecurPost surfaces a failed post against 850+ documented platform error types instead of leaving a gap in the calendar. RecurPost’s bulk CSV upload, RSS and Google Alerts import, white-label reports, and inbox with AI replies cover the working core of what most Vista Social subscribers actually use. RecurPost includes team roles, custom permissions, and the Kanban board on every plan from $9 per month.
RecurPost does not fit listening-driven teams, review managers, advocacy programs, agencies that build ad campaigns from scratch or run Google, LinkedIn, or TikTok ads, or Snapchat and Reddit publishers. Those buyers either stay on Vista Social or move up to Sprout Social and Hootsuite, not sideways to a scheduler.
The RecurPost vs Vista Social comparison walks both tools feature by feature when Vista Social is your only other candidate.
Moving Off Vista Social
Vista Social keeps drafts inside the calendar rather than a standalone content library, so copy staged captions and download media before canceling. Vista Social’s reports export to PDF and CSV, which preserves the client history. RecurPost shortens the rebuild by importing the last 6 months of posted content from each connected social account, which recreates a working content library without CSV formatting.
RecurPost rebuilds the chain in one setup pass. The account owner recreates the Vista Social approval steps as work, internal review, and client review stages. The owner then sets each stage’s timeout and its overdue rule, and invites each teammate with a role in the workspaces they cover. A writer, account manager, client chain runs on RecurPost’s default workflow with no edits. RecurPost’s 14-day trial runs without a card, so both subscriptions overlap for one cycle while the roster moves account by account. A brand-new client profile with no posting history has nothing to import, so that one starts empty.
Which RecurPost Plan Carries Which Feature
RecurPost splits these features across two price points. RecurPost puts team roles, custom permissions, the Kanban board, X publishing, and bulk CSV upload on every plan from the $9 Starter. RecurPost sells RSS import as an add-on on Starter, then includes 2 feeds on Personal and 20 feeds on Agency. RecurPost puts a separate workspace per client, the internal and external approval workflow, 5 shareable calendars, and white-label analytics reports on the Agency plan at $79 per month.
Vista Social Alternatives FAQs
What Does Vista Social Actually Cost per Month?
Vista Social’s plans run $79 (Professional, 15 profiles), $149 (Advanced, 30) and $349 (Scale, 70) on monthly billing, with 20 percent off annually. X publishing adds $29 per month, listening adds $75, and employee advocacy starts at $199, on every plan. A Professional subscriber using X and listening pays $183 per month.
Which Vista Social Alternatives Include X Publishing in the Base Price?
RecurPost includes X on every paid plan and pays X’s $0.20 per-link fee from its account-funded X Wallet. Buffer, Publer, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, and Agorapulse include X in standard plans. Metricool sells X as a paid add-on, and HeyOrca removed direct X publishing in April 2026.
Which Vista Social Alternative Fits an Agency?
That depends on which Vista Social cost is pushing the agency off the platform, and no tool on this page fits every roster. RecurPost fits an agency that needs X publishing inside the base price, 20 social accounts for $79 flat, approval stages whose deadlines act, and a different role for each client. HeyOrca fits a review-heavy agency with no X clients that can price per client workspace at $59. Sendible fits when password-free client onboarding matters most and the budget reaches its $99 Plus plan. Metricool fits when analytics and ads management have to share one dashboard on a small budget. Vista Social itself stays the fit for an agency that opens listening, review management, or the report builder every week at a $154 to $183 loaded price. RecurPost does not fit an agency whose approval steps have to differ from one client to the next, because RecurPost’s stages are account-wide, and it does not fit an agency selling a branded client dashboard on its own domain.
Does RecurPost Match Vista Social’s Feature Depth?
On features, no. Vista Social’s listening, review management, report builder, DM flows, and ads tooling all exceed what RecurPost offers, and RecurPost’s own hands-on audit rated Vista Social the stronger product. RecurPost’s price structure runs the other way: X publishing on every paid plan, 20 social accounts for $79 flat, $4 per extra account, and the staged approval workflow on that same $79 Agency plan, against a $178 loaded Vista Social cost for the same 20-account scheduling job.
Is There a Cheaper Way to Get Social Listening than Vista Social’s $75 Add-On?
Usually not for a small team. Sprout Social’s listening rides on a $199-per-seat annual Standard plan as a further add-on, and Hootsuite’s deeper listening sits in tiers from $199 per user. Agorapulse quotes listening through a demo on top of $99 per user monthly. Vista Social Professional plus listening at $154 total for 2 users beats those numbers, which is why listening-dependent teams usually renew. RecurPost runs no social listening at any price, so RecurPost does not compete for this workload.
Is There a Free Vista Social Alternative, and What Is the Cheapest One?
Buffer’s free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, and Metricool’s free plan covers 1 brand with 20 posts per month without X or LinkedIn. On paid plans, RecurPost Starter costs $9 per month for 2 accounts with X included, and Publer runs roughly $5 to $10 per account. Vista Social sells no plan below $79 monthly.
What Happens If I Need 16 to 29 Profiles on Vista Social?
Vista Social sells no per-profile add-on, so profile 16 requires the $149 Advanced plan. That step costs $70 per month whether you add one profile or fifteen. RecurPost covers 20 accounts at $79 and prices each further account at $4 per month, so 23 accounts cost $91 and 29 cost $115.
Does RecurPost Have Team Roles and Permissions Like Vista Social’s?
RecurPost includes team roles and permissions on every plan, starting at $9 per month. RecurPost ships Contributor, Writer, Editor, and Publisher templates. The owner can also edit a template or build a custom role by ticking individual permissions, which reach every area of the product from posts and approvals to the inbox, paid ads, and client review. RecurPost assigns those roles per workspace, so one person holds different roles for different clients. Vista Social ships admin and restricted roles plus custom granular roles.
How Does RecurPost’s Approval Workflow Compare With Vista Social’s Multi-Stage Approvals?
RecurPost runs work, internal review, and client review stages on the Agency plan at $79 per month. RecurPost sets each stage’s timeout from 4 hours to 7 days, then holds, auto-approves, escalates, or reschedules the post once that deadline passes. Vista Social routes multi-step approvals in a set order from Advanced at $149 per month and always requires approval on a contributor’s posts. Vista Social reaches SLA reminders and escalation through the ApproveThis integration. RecurPost’s stages are account-wide and set by the account owner, so every client runs the same stage set.
Can Clients Approve Posts Without Logging In on Vista Social and on RecurPost?
Both tools allow it. Vista Social lets team members and clients approve posts without logging in. RecurPost clients open the shareable calendar without logging in, then approve each post or request changes with one button, and a client who requests changes sends the post back to the Writing stage with comments.
Which Vista Social Alternatives Match Its White-Label Client Reports?
RecurPost delivers white-label PDF reports on the Agency plan at $79 per month, either downloaded or emailed to up to 25 recipients. RecurPost builds each one by drag and drop from 200+ metrics across 10 platforms, 58 templates, and 11 chart types. RecurPost has no scheduled or recurring report delivery, so someone on the team presses send every month. Vista Social’s report builder adds templated scheduled email delivery, and Vista Social’s full white labeling with a custom domain arrives on the $349 Scale plan. RecurPost also runs no competitor benchmarking, which Vista Social includes in its reporting. An agency that needs a branded monthly PDF per client fits RecurPost, and an agency selling a branded dashboard on its own domain stays with Vista Social.

A team that uses that depth every week should stay on Vista Social.
