Template 03 - Calendars

Free Google Posts Calendar Template

RecurPost’s Google Posts calendar template is a Google Sheet that plans Google Business Profile posts for every location a brand runs. It carries twelve columns, three of which exist because a Google Post is attached to a place rather than to a brand. This page shows every column, one completed post row for a single branch, and what happens to an approved month.

1. THE PLACE

What the Sheet Plans Across Locations

A Google Business Profile post is attached to a place. That one fact is the reason this sheet exists separately from every other calendar in RecurPost’s social media templates library: the same offer published to six branches is six rows, not one, and each of those rows sends its click somewhere different.

ONE ROW, ONE LOCATION

Use this sheet when more than one Google Business Profile location is being posted to. Every row plans one post for one listing, which is what keeps a six-branch month countable.

BUILT FOR

6 BRANCHES

An agency running six branches of an optician chain plans a month in this sheet. The same offer across those branches is six rows, and each row carries its own destination URL.

SKIP IF

1 SHOP

A single-location business does not need the location column and is better served by the network-neutral calendar in the same templates library.

2. THE COLUMNS

The Twelve Columns in the Sheet

The sheet carries twelve columns, and three of them exist because the post is attached to a place. Location, destination URL and call to action are the three; every other column appears in some form on a generic calendar.

THREE LOCAL COLUMNS

Location, destination URL and call to action are the three that make this a local calendar rather than a general one. Take them out and the sheet plans a brand’s posts instead of a place’s.

3. WORKED EXAMPLE

One Completed Google Business Profile Row

One completed row plans a single offer post for one branch of the optician chain. Every value below sits in the column named beside it, and nothing in the row is filled in twice.

SIX BRANCHES, SIX ROWS

The same offer runs at all six branches, which makes six rows. The copy and the post type stay identical, the location changes, the image may change, and the destination URL changes every single time.

THE URL IS THE TRAP

Six branches sharing one booking link sends a customer standing outside the Kingsway shop to a form that books them an appointment somewhere else, and nobody notices until a receptionist asks why.

4. THE MONTHLY PASS

Duplicate, Assign, Update, Review

You duplicate the sheet once a month and work it in four steps.

Six locations at two posts a week each is twelve rows a week and forty-eight rows a month, and the count only works when every location holds the same committed cadence.

TWO RULES

Two rules keep a location calendar honest. Both sound obvious written down, and both are the errors that actually happen.

RULE ONE

One row is one location.

RULE TWO

Copy reused across locations still needs its own destination URL.

STEP

WHAT YOU DO

WHAT TO WATCH

01  Duplicate

Copy the whole sheet for the new month

One copy per month, not a tab appended to last month’s, so closed months stay readable

02  Assign owners

Put one named person against every row

Where a branch supplies the photo and the agency writes the copy, the owner is whoever is answerable for it going out

03  Update status

Approval status before, publishing status after

Publishing status is filled in retrospectively, never in advance

04  Review cadence

Sort by location and count the rows

A branch sitting at four rows in a month shows up in one sort

rows across six locations

A chain where one flagship branch posts weekly and the rest post monthly needs its committed cadence recorded per location, and each branch compared against its own number rather than against a single total.

5. THE HANDOFF

From an Approved Sheet to Scheduled Posts

RecurPost schedules Google Business Profile posts for every connected location. The approved rows become dated entries in RecurPost’s social media calendar, which shows the month in Month, Week or List view, so six branches on the same day are visible as one line rather than six separate checks.

RecurPost publishes those posts through its workflow to schedule Google Business Profile posts, which is where a connected location and a scheduled row finally meet.

AN EMPTY URL BLOCKS IT

A row with an empty destination URL cannot go out as an offer post, because the action button has nowhere to send the click.

BATCH SIZE

~100

The month goes up as one batch with bulk scheduling, which accepts CSV and Excel files, sets no hard cap on posts per upload, and works best at around 100 posts a batch.

WHAT IT FITS

48 / 100

Forty-eight rows across six locations sits comfortably inside a single upload, so a month for the whole chain is one pass rather than six.

A month for six locations is one upload, not forty-eight.

Plan the month in the sheet, sort by location to check the count, then hand the approved rows to RecurPost in one pass.

6. LIMITS

What the Sheet Does Not Do

The sheet plans posts, and there are three things it will not do for you.

READ THE MIDDLE ROW TWICE

A multi-location offer that breaches a rule breaches it six times on the same morning, and a calendar that implies it has checked something is more dangerous than one that says plainly that it has not.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

WHAT DOES IT

WHY IT MATTERS

It does not connect accounts

The product

A row in a spreadsheet is not a connected location. Connecting a Google Business Profile listing happens in the product.

It does not validate platform policy

Google’s own review

Nothing in the sheet checks copy, an offer or an image against Google’s rules. A rejected post is rejected after submission, and the sheet only records that it happened.

It does not publish posts

A connected location and a scheduler

The sheet holds a plan. Publishing needs a connected location and a scheduler.

7. THE FILE

File Format, Access and What Happens When You Submit the Form

RecurPost gives the Google Posts calendar template away free. The file is a Google Sheet, and you take your own copy and edit that copy, so nothing you plan for a client reaches anyone else.

The form below asks for six details and requires one. Business email address is the only required field, and full name, organization, employee count, country and company URL are optional.

RecurPost sends the sheet to the business email address you supply, and the confirmation on this page tells you it is on the way.

One plan. 20 social accounts. Six branches inside them.

RecurPost’s Agency plan covers 20 social accounts and includes 3 team members. RecurPost prices an extra teammate at a flat $20 per month on any plan instead of multiplying the plan price by every seat. Each Google Business Profile location counts as one of those connected accounts, so a six-branch chain uses six of the twenty and has room for the chain’s other networks alongside them.

RecurPost is the social media management software agencies run their client publishing on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What the sheet holds, how many rows a six-branch month makes, and how the file reaches you.

What is in a Google Posts calendar template?

A Google Posts calendar carries twelve columns: publish date, time, location, post type, copy, call to action, destination URL, image asset, owner, approval status, publishing status and performance notes. Location, destination URL and call to action are the three that make it a local calendar rather than a general one.

One row plans one post for one location, so the same offer across six branches is six rows with six destination URLs. Sort the sheet by location once a month and count: six branches at two posts a week each should show twelve rows a week and forty-eight rows a month, and any branch sitting short of that is visible immediately.

The sheet plans posts. It does not connect a Google Business Profile location, check anything against Google’s rules, or publish. Publishing needs a connected listing and a scheduler, and the sheet’s job ends at an approved row with a destination URL in it.

RecurPost sends the Google Posts calendar template to the business email address you supply on this page. The file is a Google Sheet, it is free, and you take your own copy and edit that. Business email address is the only required field on the form.
